General ICBC repair question

OK;...so during one of those days when the streets were all icey and stuff along granville/16th northbound, I got rear ended... damage is minimal as in ... very small dent and minor paint chipped off on rear bumper.

ICBC has deemed me 0% responsibility for this accident of course...BUT I have up to 2 years to get it fixed/repaired.

I figure...touch up the chipped paint with white plastidip with pearlizer (close match to acura WDP) and get it addressed sometime end of 2018 when the bumper gets even more scuffed up.

It's a brand new 2017 with the paint being perfect except for the incident above.... is it in my best interests to get this repair done asap? or can I wait it out?

THe only thing is if the responsible party suddenly disappears or no longer insured in 2018.

you can wait 2 years
its in your best interest to go to a express repair shop have them download your claim, tell them you want to wait and have them take the photos of the damage and write the estimate. Then you can plastic dip do whatever and everything is on file for when you need to do the repairs. The other party is already at fault so it doesn't matter.

I'd do it sooner than later, no point in risking something happening and you not being covered for whatever reason (not saying it will, but who knows in today's world) , and if it was me I'd want my 2017 looking perfect everywhere right away, explaining to everyone that you're waiting for more scuffs to get it fixed seems silly

Keep in mind that if you get further damage later, they'll deduct the amount of previous damage.

I rear ended a lady because i hydroplaned down a hill, made a decent ding in her bumper. Except her bumper already had scratches on the sides where I didn't touch, and ICBC only asked me to pay the "corrected" amount for her repair, which was like $400 or something. I donno if she paid the remainder or what, but it's something to keep in mind.

That's the only damage you can see. You sure it isn't more extensive, underneath?

Repair it and forget about it.

I had a minor rear-end a while back and the shop estimated just repaint initially but later found out a bunch of other stuffs need replacement (shock absorbers, etc) after they took the bumper off.
