2005 Honda CRV stereo lock code

Trying to help out my aunt, her radio system got locked. I assume it's due to battery change or some sort. Anyways, every time I turn on the stereo system, it shows that I need a code.

Did some online search, no clue how to get it. I got her VIN code and serial code as needed to get the unlock code on a site (https://radio-navicode.honda.com/). But it only works for US.

Are there any other ways of getting one?

Owners manual or dealership

My 2002 Civic had it in the owner's manual.

While the car is off, hold down the numbers 1 and 6 on the head unit. Then while holding those buttons down, turn the key to aux mode and then let go of the 1 and 6. You should get a 8 digit serial number that will appear on the screen. Call any Honda service department and give them that serial number and they will be able to get you your radio code immediately.

Just bring the car to the service department and most of them will give it to you for free.

Yup, best thing is to call a dealership. Happened on my dad Odyssey. took all of 3 mins on the phone to get.

I'll give a dealership a call next I visit her.

Hey Loong, I thought it was 6 and 9.

9 doesn't exist http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...r/IMG_0534.jpg

If you've ever had work done at the original dealer that sold the vehicle, they may print it on the receipt. I looked at my original receipts from Richmond Acura and they printed it out on every service receipt I got from them. I have since switched to Burrard Acura and they don't do the same thing, so I suspect it may be dealer dependent.
