I know they don't offer the best bang for the buck performance-wise nor do I believe they'll be reasonable when it comes to maintenance costs or reliability, but I'm really digging Jaguar's styling these days, so I'd probably say an F-Type. |
Prius V as a DD, Reasons: stop go traffic excellence, practical, toyota reliability, and fuel economy. Suzuki GSX-R1000R + racing gear with the money left over for the track. Reasons: I want excitement in my life. |

I like your choice of car though, definitely a contender. I personally have a small issue with the image associated with American muscle but there's no question it's a great car these days. Quote:

But then again, turning rubber into smoke is pretty cool, so.... Quote:
Like, if you say no to a C63S AMG and an M4 and buy an F-type instead, doesn't that sort of say, "I want you to see and notice me in my loud and agressively styled sports car"? It's not the end of the world, and many people don't give a fuck about that, but for me it's a deal-breaker. (Holy shit that car sounds glorious though.) Nonetheless, not a bad suggestion. |

In other words, I think you're looking at a base Cayman with limited optional equipment if you're sticking to the $100k after taxes budget. When buying my M4 (about 6 months ago), I looked briefly at the 2016 Cayman as an option, but ruled it out when I discovered that a comparably equipped M4 is $25-$40k cheaper and infinitely more practical and comfortable for daily driving. Sure, even a base Cayman is more of a precision tool on the track and the outgoing flat-6 is a glorious engine, but how can you pay $30k more for a slower, less comfortable, less practical car with way less optional equipment? To me that makes the 718 (all incarnations) a weekend track warrior and not a logical option for a DD. Maybe I'm just a cranky ass old man now, but I personally value things like a quiet cabin and useful tech (ie. HUD) on my daily commutes -- which is 90% of the time spent driving -- more than a perfectly balanced chassis or a high-revving NA engine....... I hated the process of looking for a new car this time around, because I felt that the M4 was my choice more because of a lack of viable alternatives than because it's an amazing car. (Which it is for the most part, but still feels like this market segment is pretty barren as a whole if you're looking for a DD and only tracking it once or twice a year). Suggestions in this thread like the Caddy and GT350 are totally reasonable and appealing to many, but not my cup of tea... only the C63S (and maybe the new RS5) tickle my dick. Anyone brave enough to throw in a Tesla vote? :noyoudidnt: |

Exterior is gorgeous though, it presumably sounds amazing, and that interior looks pretty solid. Struggling to believe the fit and finish on any Infiniti can come close to Audi level of refinement yet tho. |
interesting to read some of ya'll choices. i think most of ya'll would be bankrupt in 10 years if you won the lotto today Luxury cars - requires premium fuel. Regular gas is 130.9 ... gas aint getting cheaper. Euro cars - a break job is $700+ , OP said pay for maintenance yourself. The dudes who pick a 2017 Corrola S.... BRAVO! |

https://img.memesuper.com/98af209ff9...l_488-471.jpeg 2.) Most decent automobiles in this day and age (at least, those with internal combustion engines) require (or recommend) Premium. $25 per month in additional fuel costs is going to make or break your car purchase? 3.) This is a brand new car. It'll be under warranty for all 4 years you'd own it. Some cars in this price range (such as my M4) include all scheduled maintenance for the first 4 years in the purchase price, meaning brakes (replace once in 4 years for $2k) and tires (replace rears annually for $1k) are the only expenses you'll have in 4 years of ownership. Love your enthusiasm sir but I think you've missed the point of the thread a bit.. note the words "dream car" in the thread title. But hey, I had a Corolla S as a rental car last week, and it performed admirably in LA traffic. Very similar to my M4 actually now that I think about it... and the paddle shifters are actually standard equipment! :shhh: |
2016 F350 Then mustang/corvette/435i Assuming u can't get M4 for under 100? |

If you pass on the Competition package (adds some unnecessary extra bhp) and ceramic brakes (totally useless for DD, the car is already grossly over-braked with the standard ones), then you can get a fully loaded one for under $100k after tax. With some Ari Gold negotiating and careful optional add-ons, you can prob even get the Competition Pack ($6500), Executive pack ($4500, crucial thx to HUD) and DCT ($3500) and still be within the budget. Same story for the C63S AMG. Presumably the Lexus as well. Not sure about the new RS5, it might be a bit pricier than the comparable cars after adding options, Audi is good at that type of shit. All the sick mainstream American muscle below the Z06 is also under $100k. |

2017 X5 50i non M-Sport with Premium Package Essential Assume a 2% discount and I'm at a dreamy $100,032 Probably the only person to dream about an X5 50i |
Mercedes Benz C63S Coupe!!! Zero to 100 kph: 3.9 sec But, to fit in 100K budget taxed in. Its going to be without any package...lol https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...b8f41a42c.jpeg http://motoringrumpus.com/wp-content...S-Interior.jpg http://blog.caranddriver.com/wp-cont...44-876x535.jpg https://a.gaw.to/photos/1/8/7/187827...nz_C_Class.jpg http://blog.caranddriver.com/wp-cont...26-876x535.jpg http://blog.caranddriver.com/wp-cont...46-876x535.jpg |
Drove one of these for a weekend, hit the Vancouver Island track and it rocked my world to say the least. http://www.licensetoquill.co.uk/wp-c...12-800x532.jpg |

Looks wise.. average person couldn't distinguish this car from a $13,000 IS250. Not saying thats the reason why you'd ever buy a patricular car, but when you look at the C63 posted above, Corvette, BMW, etc. the styling of almost all the comparables in this price range are a new/newer body style with presence. the RC-F is from a body style that is 5+ years old |

One thing this thread is opening my eyes to is how crazy inflated the price of cars is nowadays... holy fuck |
^ I was just going to post how depressing this thread is. 100k tax in does not get you a lot anymore. I would get a bare bones Telsa Model S starting at $92,500 (if it stays under 100k). |

I'd buy a 912, an e36 m3, an e30 m3, and an e46 touring if I was gonna spend 100k on cars. |

Same goes for Mercedes C class and E class, Audi A3 and A6, etc. |
awww.... you replied to everyone but not mine... FINE lololol... Good choices, keep them coming, though I doubt I will be in a market for something like this anytime soon. I was also looking at the Cayman S online configurator... and was like... yup not gonna happen, even with some "basic" luxury options, it was already pushing 95K before taxes.... because... partial leather seats is $2000 +, HIDs are $1400 +, and if you want LED headlight and not HIDs... well... $2400...keyless entry is $910...Heated Multifunction Steering Wheel$540...2-Zone Automatic Climate Control$870... Seat Heating $610..i mean the Porsche option list is... (you would think leather seating, HIDs and keyless entry, heated wheel and seats, duo-zone climate control would be standard on a car that starts at 76K....) i mean seventy-frikkin-six thousand dollars... SHIT my 25K hyundai elantra had heated wheel and seats, duo-zone climate control |

It uses the same motor as the Corvette Z06. 640hp, 0-60 in 3.6 sec and can top 200mph. Pricing undercuts all its competition but inflation puts all car prices through the roof. |

In for the porsche circlejerk. The "car" I would choose would be a base-ish Macan turbo or a somewhat loaded gts. Perfect grocery getter vehicle, good for work (I drive my car to-from and for work), and is classed in BS for autocross :) https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/EC...=w1200-h803-no |

^^ has similar to the options list on my M4 and less than $1k difference in price between the two. $94k after tax. Another $5k of room in the budget to add some more options if needed. I think this is the most appealing alternative for me personally (M4 being the other) in this price range. No-one else has posted something that's made me wetter upon seeing the pics in this thread |
