What's the current sub-$100k dream car? Let's pretend for a moment here. I'm giving you $100k to spend on a BRAND NEW car today. You must buy TODAY (ie. dealers must be accepting orders and be ready to sell you one today).... come tomorrow, offer is off, and I'm taking my money back if you haven't bought something by then. Must be under $100k delivered after taxes, you can't spend a cent more. Again, must be new (ie. 2016 or newer model year, less than 1000km on the odo). Whatever you pick, you have to use it as your daily driver (ie. not a weekend car) for the next 4 years. You will have to pay for maintenance personally after the initial purchase. What are you buying and why? |
(I have a feeling this thread will feature much sucking of the Porsche cock, but please kids, ask yourself whether you can live with a sub-$100k Porsche as your DD for 4 years. SwiftRage) |
I was instantly going to say the new Lexus LC, but unbelievably they have priced it starting at $101,500 CDN hahaha, way too high for old tech (Lexus wise) engine etc.. My pick would have to be the new Giulia just to be different but.... eep at $87k I think that's over too??? Dammit... fail... okay give me a Mustang 350R just go full redneck instead. |
this aint that hard. Drivers car : porsche cayman 718 SUV: Lexus LX/GX yes its hideous but they are very capable and comfy. |
If it was me needing a daily driver, I would get a loaded Audi Q7. I drive 40,000km per year in all road conditions. I have kids. This is "practical" in that price range. I could afford the maintenance. I asked my wife this sub $100k question - she wants a loaded Dodge Ram pickup. Long story short, where she is from in Europe what we call 'luxury cars' are quite common, but it is prestigious to own a Dodge Ram. She currently drives my truck often and likes have the height and space. |
this. ford online inventory shows it as available: Search Inventory - 2017 Mustang Shelby GT350® http://buildfoc.ford.com/dig/Ford/Mu.../1/vehicle.png https://scontent-sjc2-1.xx.fbcdn.net...7e&oe=5954CFD3 i have already been driving my GT all through this miserable winter so this shouldn't be harder to daily, only louder and a lot faster. service is not an issue because it follows the same schedule i have for my 5.0. my last dealer service cost me $70  why? because after years of beaters, econoboxes and rice burners (except for my old type-r... RIP :( ), torque+rwd= :fullofwin: i want to say gt350r, but after dealer markups there is no way to get it under $100k  .... also my driver's license would go up in a puff of smoke. so can you please be my benefactor amaru? ;) |
Mercedes E400 wagon or GLC43 AMG. Gotta be able to haul stuff from Ikea and be able to comfortably carry the in-laws. Both comfortably make it in under $100k after taxes. |
I always LOL at people who buy cars with their in-laws in mind. That's their problem! 2-seater for life yo! I'd rather hammer nails into my own balls than chauffeur in-laws around. I'm also not Asian though  |
M2/M3 for me no question. The M2 is the only new car I have any interest in that I could possibly be allowed to financially cripple myself for. The M3 is in the parameters of the thread for me, but no chance in real life. |
2017 Toyota Corolla |
Merc C63 AMG-S |
M3 for me, close second but breaking the rules (since not available this second) would be the new RS3 when it arrives. Also soft spot for the GT350 but as a daily might be a little harsh. |
The idea of spending $100k on a car isn't for me but if I had to choose the one that ticks all the boxes for me, it would be this one: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/HnFZuHLVyJY/maxresdefault.jpg And that's only because the CTS-V is over $100k |
u guys not care about rear wheel drive vs all wheel drive when getting BMW M series? |
Are you saying you want AWD? RWD for me all the way if I had the choice. I want a wagon if its my only car. Do they still make an RS4 (yes I realize this is awd lol)? |
umm.... I might go against the grain here but... I will totally rock a 2017 Corvette Grand Sport 3LT Package.. comes to $86,880 plus taxes to about 98K all said and done.... and yes... the 3LT is the top package that comes with all the bells and whistles.... the Z06 is out of the budget, and plus I want to say the grand sport will be more comfortable and just as fast 90% of the time... I am too poor to go to the track often enough to warrant the extra performace a Z06 offers.... plus... maintenance must be cheaper than the German counterparts.... |
I think it depends on what you are looking for Track Orientated: M2 4C Cayman TT-RS Evora City stop-light hero: M3/M4 RS3 S4/S5 Shelby/Hellcat/whatever the other noisy domestic is Lightly equipped Vette CTS-V / ATS-V Luxury fun: SQ5 Macan Jeep SRT The vette could fall under the track orientated easily, but I don't think you can option it up for less than 100K I've left out a lot of Mercs, can't keep up with their numbering |
q60. I really like how the rear looks and they improve their interior alot comparing them from the past. https://www.google.ca/url?sa=i&rct=j...90036768046135 Wouldnt mind the new looks of the ats-v either https://www.google.ca/url?sa=i&rct=j...90422501614059 |
Nisan Leaf |
Brand new ford raptor with all the bells and whistles. If you add on a few dealer extras like tonneau cover and shit, should be hovering right around 100k |
Audi S3!! |
V60 Polestar. I have this thing about Swedish station wagons... especially fast ones. AWD + twincharged + Volvo. Yes please! http://www.focusrs.org/forum/attachm...-31_800x0w.jpg |
Stripper F80 Options: -Yas Marina Blue -Carbon interior trim -Adaptive suspension |
i'm in the same boat as thumper, gt350 all day. |
Benz E43 AMG. A German sedan with AMG performance. -would buy this car over a 5 series because of overall reliability is better with Benz vs. BMW. -comfortable sedan with the performance of a twin turbo V6 at 396 hp. |
