| Sticky front brake caliper
Thought I had a seized front drivers caliper (smoking after a highway run, piston wouldn't compress) so I replaced L and R fronts with new re-man'd calipers. Put in new pads as well since the one that was smoking was about half the thickness of the other side, lol. Thoroughly flushed the brake fluid. With the vehicle jacked up and on stands, when the vehicle is in drive (wheels spinning free air), the right side spins fine but the left side still sticks. If my foot is on the brake in drive, once I let off, both sides spin fine for a bit but then shortly after thee left side will stop by itself.
I've already relubed the sliders on the new calipers. I also just put in a new brake hose on the left side thinking that was the culprit. With the new hose, I'm still having the same problem, except that it seems to be a little better (since the left wheel spins faster/longer compared to before).
Basically done all I can in regards to the brake system other than the master cylinder. Any other ideas?!
Edit:
After a highway run, I'm still smelling burnt brakes. Front left is most prominent, followed by front right, and rear left. Rear right has no smell.

Did you clean the sliders/bores before re-lubing? Not uncommon for reman calipers to fail too.

The car is jacked up and free wheeling when I did those tests... I'm assuming there's not enough resistance where the open diff would come into play. Quote:

Did you use new brake hardware or clean the caliper mounts, where the pads sit?

Could be the master cylinder. A vent or replenishing port could be blocked preventing brake fluid from returning into the reservoir.

Check your brake lines ( The soft ones) If they swelled up then you'll have this issue

What I find usually with brake pads at work is the paint or coatings on the pad portion that rides in the caliper bracket are really thick. It can sometimes cause the pad to bind and not return away from the rotor when you let off the brake pedal. I remove the paint(i use air tool with a sanding disc or gritty sand paper) from the ear + portion that slides on the bracket and give them a good coating of anti seize before installing.

I do the same. I also wire brush the caliper mounts before installing the hardware kit.
