Good news for R32 GTR owners - Nissan restarts parts production

Nissan restarts parts production for vintage Skylines - LeftLaneNews

Nice to see a major manufacturer restart parts production on a modern classic. Perhaps other companies will do the same one day.

My ITR and MKIV Supra both have plenty of parts that are discontinued. Anyone else finding parts are discontinued for their car?

Almost any Japanese car has massive used/aftermarket support and I don't know when you ever need to look for OEM parts?

Can you walk into any Nissan dealership in Canada and order R32 Skyline GT-R or do you have to find somebody to buy it from Nissan in Japan and ship them to Canada?

dash vents
door window guides/seals
side window exterior trims
upper dashboard pad
center console surround

i could go on... anyone who has a r32 with these parts broken or missing have to shell out big $$$ for NOS or undamaged used parts.

but the question is... will nissan sell the parts at original retail, or will they be expensive low volume prices?

R32 is nearing 30 years
I think anything over a decade or 15 years of support is fairly generous

have 3D printers been a game changer in non-mechanical discontinued auto parts? If not I'm sure it'll be a feasible alternative once the printer get large enough.

OEM gaskets and seals, at least with Japanese manufacturers are always of better quality from the OEM.

These are the things you want OEM parts for. Also, not everyone wants to modify their car.
