need some cost effective shelving ideas , not racks but shelving . something simple like those wire shelves (see pic)...just need to get some ideas and get it done.  |

Costco has heavy duty shelves (1000lb per level) for $79.99 per set, iirc.
48x72x18 or something like that.

For my garage I used a combination of:
- Re-used junky Canadian Tire cabinets the previous owners installed in my House's Laundry Room (Right front), where I keep all my fluids/cleaners etc so they don't fall off the sides (Right front)
- Some Slot-rail shelves like what cunninglinguist posted (Right rear), cut down the cabinet doors from above to use as the actual shelves.
- Heavy duty shelf brackets with 1" Plywood on top for really heavy stuff like my cylinder heads & tire chains (above the tool boxes on the left)

I was quoted a out 100/linear feet for some heavy garage shelving thru garageguru..considering that I'm looking at 10 feet on each wall gawk that
Just ordered some pro#lats from Costco and some hyloft garage shelves from amazon.com it's going to run me about 600.

I find the wire shelving useless, had i known people wanted it i threw out 3 different closets that had it. Things slide inbetween the bars. That's my opinion anyhow id rather get some planks of wood, paint them and hang them on the wall.

I guess they are meant for tables, but I like that they are fold-able, so when i don't need them or I need the space, I can just fold them down.
The other option is a slatwall. But they will be quite expensive if you want to cover a whole wall. Doing just a panel in the middle of the wall looks kinda weird.

I used kitchen cabinets I got for free on CL. Fewer holes in the wall, your shit doesn't get dusty and everything's not out on display.

Just installed my own garage shelving... I have a shitty tandem garage so ended up doing length wise by the ceiling.
I tried to look for wire shelves but they were a bit out of my price range
I ended up buying these boards and brackets from Home Depot. They were about $40 a shelf with 3 brackets (you can get cheaper brackets of course)
