| Camaro SS 1LE is as fast around Big Willow as the GT350R.
ZL1 less that 3/4ths slower than a 911 GT3 at half the price.
Both were driven by Randy Pobst.
'15 911 GT3: 1:27.22
'15 911 Turbo S: 1:27.81
'17 Camaro ZL1 6M: 1:27.90
'17 Ford Shelby GT350R: 1:28.29
'17 Camaro SS 1LE: 1:28.29
In another episode of Ignition, it actually puts down a faster time. |

Chevrolet is really bringing it. I used to think it was silly for them to use pushrod engines with huge displacements when everybody else has gone with OHC but they have gobs of power and pretty decent fuel economy too, and with the next generation of Camaros they've managed to bring extreme performance inexpensively.

I'm more impressed that an AMG GTS beat the GT3 and the Mac 570

It won't have a Lexus quality interior but for a car that's 45 grand and runs a mid 12 second 1/4 mile, it has a pretty respectable interior, IMO.

The current GT3 is even quicker. Still, the Camaro is incredible.

I think 320icar is more referring to their "performance competitors" which are worlds above in prices. Its cool that these cars are keeping up to supercars at half the price, but this dick measuring contest of how fast your car can go around a track doesn't equate to real world fun unfortunately.
Sports cars barely exist anymore. They are all just race cars now.

incorrect. The gt350 interior is leagues better than the camaro. Considering the only difference between the gt350/R is aero, no back seats/AC and carbon wheels, I feel the lt1 vs gt350 is a fair comparison. No question for me but I'd be driving home in the Ford if I had to live with for the next 10 years
