Anyone own a Touareg?

Going to be needing a new vehicle over the next year or so, have always been intrigued by the touareg and the very few people i know who own them seem to love them. I've glossed over reliability a bit and they seem to be fairly good.. Id assume i'd want the TDI but that also seems to up the cost quite a bit..

Any info on years, models, pricing would be cool, my budget would be approx > 30k for hopefully somthing around or under 100,000kms

Picked up a 2015 tdi "new" last September. Very happy with the car, gets 10L/100km without trying and the chassis/drivetrain is excellent in the snow, big upgrade compared to lighter car based CUV's. .

If you're buying CPO, it wouldn't hurt to get an extended warranty, the base tier of extended warranty that just covers the major components is not very expensive. We got a pretty base model (no navi, no air suspension) but less things to break I guess

TDI fuel economy and resale should be worth spending a bit more compared to the standard V6. It's a heavy truck and the extra torque is very welcome

I know two people who had first gen touareg a v8 and a v6 tdi, both were huge pieces of shit that feel apart.

Also if I'm not mistaking think the v6 tdi falls under the vw emissions scandal so it might not even be available.

I'm pretty sure that's just water in the exhaust, maybe some soot mixed in if he's rolling coal in the touareg

Touregs are good luxury SUVs compared to other competitors like Cayenne, Q7, RX in pricing and the TDI engine is a huge plus. A large luxury SUV with 1000kms fuel mileage per tank of diesel is pretty insane value. Right now they are part of the diesel settlement but unadressed since the main focus are with the 2.0L engines.

Right now you wont be able to find anymore new ones unless I have some in storage from back in the day and won't be released until 2018.
