Daniel has taken 152 shots by comparison.
I don't think they're done... you can't say that about guys that put up 50+ points in the modern day NHL... they have a role... it's just not where they're playing right now.

Have to admit I haven't been watching the games the past 2 years. But 40-50pts with second line minutes. Missed 9 games between the two of them in the last 4 years and they don't have a place in the NHL? |

^ They should come back to Vancouver for a real 'bargain' home town price, say $3M each per year (they don't really need the $$). Stay here in Vancouver for the majority of the NHL regular season. They can set the culture, mentor the kids, visit Canucks place, etc.
And then come trade deadline, discuss with JB and TL about which team might be interested to rent them. This is advantage of signing for that price, very tradeable. They get one last adrenaline pumping run through playoffs and a chance to play for SC. End their career, sign a one day contract with Canucks the following year and retire as hometown heroes.

There's absolutely zero chance the Sedins will sign any contract that doesn't have a NMC imo

You’re just gonna spend the money on some garbage who won’t be as good mentors or Role models as the Sedins and likely have to sign that garbage for minimum 2 years whereas the sedins you could almost certainly get on a 1 year term.
I’m fine either way but I’d probably lean more towards keeping them

The twins should retire after this season. Walk out holding their head up high, considering what they've contributed on and off the ice.
Absolutely no point sticking around, aside from the money aspect...

Absolutely no point sticking around, aside from the money aspect... | Not sure how they would be holding their head up high considering the season the team is having. I'll take them back, there's no one that could replace them at 3-5M and bring the same value on and off the ice.

On the fence about the Sedins... wouldn't mind them signing for another year and mentor the young guys and transition the leadership into Bo's hands

Not really sure what the coaching staff is thinking here. But why would they scratch Jokinen? He has scored 2 of the last 3 goals this team has scored. I get he's not in their long term plans but what has Dowd done? What has Motte done? Boucher, Gagner, Goldy, the list goes on. I actually have to look at the box score to see which players played against the Ducks cuz none of them stood out. I know all the fans including myself wants the team to lose, but can they make the games a bit more exciting to watch?? Right now if they can score one goal in a game, that to me already feels like a win.

Most top 4-6 teams at trade deadline are pretty close to salary cap.

Don't see why people think they would re-sign just to be dealt at deadline.
Being traded has been a no go for them for 3 years now, don't see why they would come back just to be traded.
If they really just want to go for a cup, they would just sign league min deals with a contender

But most families can handle a short term 3-4 months with husband/dad working away from home if the cause/purpose is rewarding enough.

Yes, and if they wanted to play for a contender they could of been traded this year. Its just not going to happen.
Either they play at a discounted price with NMC or they retire

Look at Joe Thornton's deal. 1yr/8mill..Sedins ain't coming back for less than 4mill a piece. The twins had similar numbers to Jumbo last year.

Either they play at a discounted price with NMC or they retire | $7m/yr each is a lot for a contender to fit under the cap. Most contender team ... except maybe Vegas couldn't do it.
