he has said he wants to sign with Vancouver so hopefully he hasn't changed his mind.

He does, but he would be going back to a team missing 2 of there top 3 players from this year. The team would be non competitive meaning he would be going back to become a ufa

I’m not too worried based on his past comments, but I’d like to once again point out how bullshit that loophole is and I can’t believe the NHL still hasn’t done anything about it.

Any other league and the player either has to re-enter the draft (resetting the clock to be signed) or the team retains his rights as long as they continue making bonafide offers until he reaches normal UFA age.

Why NCAA players deserve more rights than players from other leagues, who knows.
