I’m not too worried based on his past comments, but I’d like to once again point out how bullshit that loophole is and I can’t believe the NHL still hasn’t done anything about it.
Any other league and the player either has to re-enter the draft (resetting the clock to be signed) or the team retains his rights as long as they continue making bonafide offers until he reaches normal UFA age.
Why NCAA players deserve more rights than players from other leagues, who knows.

^ can always count on that, I laughed so hard a couple weeks back when Hitchcock said they had full confidence in him with Bishop injured down the stretch, I told my buddy “Dallas won’t make the playoffs with him in net” hahaha they’re pretty much eliminated now barring a miracle.
Also fucking Canucks they’re 5 points out of last now.
