Should be noted that a lot can change in a year.

For example, Nick Ebert was projected to be a top 5 pick in the 2012 draft in June 2011 and he ended up falling to the last overall pick (211th).

Then you have guys like Ryan Johansen and Pierre-Luc Dubois who weren't on anyone's radar the year prior to their respective drafts and end up going top 5.

This year, for example, Liljegren was a surefire top 3 pick in June 2016, but fell to the middle of the first round. Chychrun was similar last year.

nope he's not worth two firsts, yes it would help but those are at least two great players we would give up.

Oilers already said they would match any offers for Leon Draisaitl. Also what goes around comes around they can throw offer sheets to our future RFA's. It's a double edge sword.

I really like Draisaitl, but he's not worth anywhere close to $10M/year ... And giving up two 1st round picks, a 2nd, and a 3rd is insanity for a team in our situation.
