IIRC Gaunce had amazing possession stats last season. He just needs some talent around him.

Gaunce needs to work on his shot and trying to aim somewhere else besides the goalie's logo.

Yak signs with the Avs

Nabatron 07-04-2017 10:36 AM

I think with canucks signing all those free agents the are worried with rushing the young guys and just giving them spots. Instead of them actually earning the spots like they should. I don't think they want to be an embarrassment like they were last year and don't want to go through a season like when they gave spots to Virtanen and McCann. Also I don't think management is really sure how doresetts health is with his neck surgery as well.

Dorsett needs to goooooo... I like his tenacity and admire his heart, but he has hands of stone and his staged "fights" and physical play are embarrassing.

I agree. Look at how Edmonton fucked up young 1st rounders over the years by giving them spots. Hell gagner is one good example of not really putting work in developing young players.

at least he didn't just hug people like Prust did haha

Nabatron 07-04-2017 01:39 PM

I don't mind dorsett but he is coming back from a major neck injury and he isn't that type of guy who lets up. He goes and gives 100% every shift, imagine him just coasting out here and not hitting anyone because he doesn't want to reinjure himself. He will be practically useless if he isn't hitting let alone fighting.

6o4__boi 07-04-2017 01:53 PM

wouldn't be surprised if he starts off in Utica in a conditioning stint, along with Rodin

Gaunce will probably start his year in Utica unless he has a ridiculously good camp, I would think Goldy, Boeser will get every chance to crack the line up.

Sedins Granlund
Bae Bo Boeser
Gagner Burmistrov Goldy
Boucher Sutter Eriksson

Tanev - Edler
Del Zotto - Stecher
Hutton - Gudbranson
Wiercoch - Holm
Juolevi (if he makes it)

I don't see Subban/Pedan passing both Wiercoch or Holm on the depth unless they have amazing camps.

Utica's d-corp will probably be Subban/Pedan/Brisebois as their top 3 since Juolevi still isn't eligible if he doesn't make the team.

dbaz 07-04-2017 02:09 PM

kovy staying in khl for 1 more year. will be a ufa afterwards

murd0c 07-04-2017 02:23 PM

I heard on 1040 this morning that Juolevi came into the young stars training camp at 200lbs.. If that's actually the case I could see him making the team this year.

68style 07-04-2017 03:11 PM

^ I hope Juolevi is the good type of 200lbs lol

Ain't no way Sutter is our 4th line centre or would even accept that role though, keep dreaming

radioman 07-04-2017 03:26 PM

hes 6'3 drafted at like 185lbs right? 200lbs sounds about right for a growing boy.

6'2" 182 lbs

murd0c 07-04-2017 05:24 PM

he's 6'3" now which is great to hear, I honestly didn't realize he was so tall until today.

invader 07-04-2017 08:43 PM

I always thought he was one of those small puck movie D man

Damn boys big. Virtanen big.

6o4__boi 07-04-2017 08:44 PM

Man it'd be wicked if Juolevi turns out to be an Ohlund pre eye injury.

Mike Oxbig 07-04-2017 08:45 PM

Sedin sedin boeser
bae bo eriksson
goldy sutter gagner
boucher granlund dorsett

tanev edler
lisa ann guddy
hutton stecher

markstrom nielsson

legit?

goldy might be in AHL, since hes a ppg player there

murd0c 07-04-2017 09:42 PM

You left out Rodin and that new Russian centre

Mike Oxbig 07-04-2017 10:12 PM

I think rodin is injury prone and burmistrov probably will take 4th line

dbaz 07-04-2017 10:13 PM

all ive been thinking about with salo back coaching today.. did he pick up an injury?

Nabatron 07-04-2017 10:32 PM

if juolevi ends up like ohlund lite then that would be awesome but i don't see juolevi making the open ice hits and being that physical. Lets just hope he doesn't turn out like Ossi Vaananan...

highfive 07-04-2017 10:33 PM

Wasn't OJ compared to be a Lidstrom lite?

dbaz 07-04-2017 11:00 PM

oj plays similar to salo, minus the shot

Tim Budong 07-05-2017 01:12 AM

Salo is actually at the dev camp helping out with development

hahahah
