Sakic pulls the trigger to trade Duchene. -good return for this player. :notbad: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Wasn't sure who was coming from where in terms of prospects so i looked them up and broke it down. Ottawa - Bowers (1st 2017) - Hammond - future 1st - future 3rd - Turris + Duchene Nashville - Girard (2nd 2016) - Kamenev (2nd 2014) - future 2nd + Turris Ottawa sure gave up a lot for Duchene..... |
Ottawa going all in |

How much better is Matt Duchene than Kyle Turris? 2 years younger, slightly higher upside... but is it that much better? Ottawa gave up A LOT. Turris, two 1st round picks and a 3rd rounder. |
Turris wasn't going to resign with the Sens so even tho they gave up tons to get Duchene it was really a smart move rather then letting Turris walk in the summer. |

Interesting trade to say the least... Is Duchene really that big of an upgrade over Turris? At the end of this season, Stone and Ceci are RFA and they've got less than 2 mil to play with now. I'm also not sure how the Sens are going to deal with their cap problem at the end of the 2018-19 season. Karlsson, Duchene, Brassard all expire then... If one of these players doesn't sign, chances are, the others may not want to stay if they don't have a contending team. |
