They should slot JV back in with the twins. The Sedins are not able to pull off their nifty moves/passes as consistently anymore. They cycle and cycle, and then lose the puck or get picked off. Down low, they get pinned against the wall and can't make their plays as often. JV wreaks havoc with his size and creates space, which is what they need. I'd rather have JV for 10 mins/game with the twins than Gaunce for 10 mins. For the "better of the team", play JV. He's got a helluva shot, he's got the size, and in the limited minutes he's played, he hasnt shown to be been a liability. |
The PP needs a major retool. It is only the first unit that can generate some quality scoring chances. When Hank and Daniel play on the second unit, you can definitely see that their puck possession has weakened considerably, especially at the boards. Easy puck clearing for the opposing team. The passes back to the point man are useless as the weaksauce shots from the point either hit an opposing player or miss the net. Did the team even get any shots on net in one of their power plays in the third period against VGK? :lawl: What happened to the set plays that Hank, Daniel, and Vanek did when Vanek faked going to the front of the net after Hank winning the faceoff, so that he shot into a shooting lane with the twins in front of the net? |
