the tv announcers noted that a TV timeout was called just before the penalty shot was taken; so the ice was cleaned as part of the timeout, which made it more advantageous to the shooter.

punkwax 02-03-2018 10:30 PM

It also gave him plenty of rest. He was gassed and that extra time would have helped as well.

Going down the nightly YouTube rabbit hole of random clicking and somehow ended up here.

Man I remember this as a kid. It was horrible and the jerseys even worse.

what would you be willing to give up to pry Domi from the yotes?

dbaz 02-04-2018 11:29 AM

id stay away from domi due to asking price. picks are out of the question due to the canucks hitting on picks now. id give up hutton but wouldn't wanna pay anymore.. but chayka is an analytical idiot so maybe we could get him for virtanen

3 weeks to trade deadline, any predictions for the following canucks?

Del Zotto
Gudbranson
Hutton
Granlund
Gaunce
Virtanen
Vanek
Nilsson
Goldobin
Biega

6o4__boi 02-04-2018 01:34 PM

Del Zotto - staying
Gudbranson - staying, I don't think a deal will materialize tbh, my money's on him re-signing
Hutton - traded
Granlund - worth nothing so staying
Gaunce - decent bottom six, staying
Virtanen - I think the regime is willing to play the patient game with him for now
Vanek - for the love of God, I hope traded
Nilsson - staying, worth nothing
Goldobin - staying
Biega - staying, worth nothing

I wouldn’t trade virtanen unless you know that he’s a lazy fuck off the ice.

Guy has speed and size that this teams need. Look at the goal Daniel scored against the hawks. It started off with virtanen skating hard and fighting for the puck.

If we can get him to play like this consistently. He’s a top 6 guy imo.

Infiniti 02-04-2018 08:29 PM

Prepare for GMJB to do absolutely fuck all by the trade deadline. This management group is still not 100% committed to a rebuild. At this point you take anything you can get for all those expiring contracts/veterans that can be moved. Stock up the cupboards and draft, draft, draft.

Infiniti 02-05-2018 06:02 AM

On a side note: after seeing how the city of Philadelphia behaved last night, I feel a little less embarrassed about how Vancity reacted after the 2011 SCF.

Hutton, goldobin, Virtanen. Any of the 2

murd0c 02-06-2018 11:39 AM

Pretty impressive Petterson being ranked #1

it won't let my copy and paste the article or I would.

Nabatron 02-06-2018 12:03 PM

i would trade hutton for domi straight up not sure what Arizona would want maybe throw in goldy

6thGear. 02-06-2018 04:52 PM

ARI isn't stupid enough to do straight up Hutton for Domi. They can get a lot more from other teams. Hutton and Goldy and probably some AHL-er/pick is probably what they would be asking from Canucks I would imagine

Teammates with a soft response to a hard, clean check by Hall on Burrows, so Burrows takes it into his own hands and probably gets himself in some hot water. Still sad that the only thing his teammates could muster was a couple of shoves and some words. Reminds me of our soft team.

What’s with Taylor Hall the last couple seasons laying people out on the reg, I can see why guys are irritated with him because he’s supposed to be a scoring player not that type and I don’t see how it improves his game at all to target guys for crushing bodychecks, especially if he’s just going to turtle after.

It improves his game by drawing a 4 minute power play that he can go score on.

Hockey is a physical game, just because you are known as a goal scorer doesn't mean you can't go lay someone out here and there if the opportunity presents itself. Ovechkin does the same thing, although probably not as much since hes getting older. You have to know who it is though, a guy like Taylor Hall isn't going to drop them, and any retaliation is just going to pile up his PP time.

It was a good clean hard check, Burrows is a big boy and can defend himself. I didn't like accidentally on purpose knees to the head though.

Bob McKenzie‏
@TSNBobMcKenzie
Word out of OTT is that Burrows has been offered an in-person hearing with @NHLPlayerSafety. No word yet on whether Burrows will accept the offer or waive his right and do it by phone.

:suspicious: you really don't need to lecture me on what type of game hockey is, I played for years and at a pretty high level... I'm well aware of how the game is played... hockey players are all about consistency, Marchand is on the ice you know to keep your head up, Lucic is on the ice you know to keep your head up... Ovechkin plays that way every shift... Hall spends 90% of his games dancing around and touching no one, then decides to lay someone out once every 10 games??? He wants the star player treatment AND he wants to engage in fuckery... doesn't work that way... there's many reasons Hall isn't very well liked and that's just one of them.

Not excusing what Burrows did, but Hall is an ass.

winson604 02-07-2018 06:21 AM

I love hockey and I love Burrows but this is the shiet that I've come to be disgusted at while watching hockey now that a guy can lay a guy out clean and our expectation is to rush the guy. What happened to taking it like a man and making them pay afterwards by scoring, a clean hit of your own, or otherwise.

cdizzle_996 02-07-2018 06:39 AM

I don’t even think Burrows knees were intentional TBA. I think wrestinling around in the heat of the moment flailing around, it’s just unfortunate they caught Hall in the head..

Nabatron 02-07-2018 08:36 AM

^it looks pretty intentional lol

Nabatron 02-07-2018 08:42 AM

Elliotte Friedman saying canucks testing the value of hutton and nilsson.

Hutton would do good with a change of scenery. Hoping he does get traded to Arizona and if they wanted to sweeten the deal give them goldy. I don't think goldy has a future with the canucks since the coaches don't seem to trust him.

I could see canucks trying to move nilsson and thinking demko is ready so they would bring him up after the trade deadline.
