I love hockey and I love Burrows but this is the shiet that I've come to be disgusted at while watching hockey now that a guy can lay a guy out clean and our expectation is to rush the guy. What happened to taking it like a man and making them pay afterwards by scoring, a clean hit of your own, or otherwise.
Not sure what era you’re referring to, but I can’t recall an era where a guy gets trucked and the opposing team generally just lets it slide.
Scott Stevens definitely had his fair share of fights after throwing hard, clean (at the time) hits.
according to Rick Dhaliwal bruins were scouting hutton lastnight which is good and bad since they have interest but watched hutton play one of his worst games and getting walked by barkov on the winning goal did not help his chances of being traded
you really don't need to lecture me on what type of game hockey is, I played for years and at a pretty high level... I'm well aware of how the game is played... hockey players are all about consistency, Marchand is on the ice you know to keep your head up, Lucic is on the ice you know to keep your head up... Ovechkin plays that way every shift... Hall spends 90% of his games dancing around and touching no one, then decides to lay someone out once every 10 games??? He wants the star player treatment AND he wants to engage in fuckery... doesn't work that way... there's many reasons Hall isn't very well liked and that's just one of them.
Not excusing what Burrows did, but Hall is an ass.
It's not "engaging in fuckery" its bodychecking. Which is perfectly legal, and anyone can do it. It doesn't matter if you hit 1 time in 82 games, everyone should have their head up and be ready.
Is this not okay from Connor? Might have been a tad late but hes not known for his body checking

There's no code in hockey that says star players can't make big hits. Or that you can only do it to exact revenge. Sometimes they do it to get themselves or their team going. Yeah, it sucks sometimes that they won't answer the bell after but that's the way it is. The best you can do is line him up next shift or later in the game.
"McDavid had a reason to get back at the guy". Get back at him for what exactly? Nobody reacted because of who delivered the hit. None of the announcers said anything about revenge, who've been watching the whole game. All they talk about is how it got the crowd going.
I think I've made my point so i won't go on any further. But i am curious as to what your hockey experience is..."pretty high level" doesn't tell me much and can vary from person to person. You can pm me so we don't high-jack the thread.
had an MRI done on wrist, same one he injured last year. Awaiting results.

So Hutton played a grand total of 5 minutes tonight, bigtime in the doghouse... that said, the Edler and Stetcher pairing was on the ice for all 4 goals against....
I am hoping they get rid of hutton. Pouliot is not much better, seems to me when pouliot plays he cannot make a tape to tape pass.
Also hoping starts making some moves...botchford wrote lastnight in the provies that benning wasn't going out of his way to call other GMs to make trades. He was just going to sit and wait for them to call him and listen what they had to offer. I seriously hope he is just fucking around because this team is legit tire fire. Need to ship out guys and get picks and assets back in return!

I wouldn’t put much weight on that claim, Botchford is a whiny bitch and he knows about as much about what Benning is doing in his office daily as Benning knows about what kind of porn Botchford is jerking off to on the daily.
