| 2014 KIA FORTE rust spots on roof already - how to fix?
My friend has a 2014 KIA Forte with only 35,000 km that has rust spots already by the back door and on the roof. The in service date of the vehicle is July 2015 so the vehicle is still under warranty. The vehicle was bought used last year from a local Vancouver area Kia dealership.
The vehicle is kept from September to May in Saskatchewan so it is exposed to some harsher weather conditions. My fried has brought it to the Kia dealership and we are waiting to hear back on how they propose to address this rust problem. Does anyone have any suggestions on what we should ask the Kia dealer to do to remedy this rust problem. Our concern is that the rust is going to spread further and once the warranty has expired we will have no further recourse dealing with Kia.
Thanks for any help and advice offered!

Are you sure this is rust and not rail dust? Sometimes metal specs land on your paint and rust on top of paint so it looks like that. Iirc, rust warranty covers perforation which is like a hole..

I'm going to bet your friend is out of luck, unless Kia & the dealer decide to pull a "good will" repair. Quote:
2. What is Not Covered (Anti Perforation)
...
• Any surface corrosion, which does not result in
perforation, such as that typically caused by sand,
salt, hail or stones.

trade it in but before open your school bag and dot the rust out with white out liquid eraser as a temporary fix
