Are Autoplan Agencies Allowed To Look Up My Insurance Details?

I've been getting a lot of random calls, text messages, and snail mail from all sorts of random Autoplan brokers that I haven't purchased insurance from in more than a year.

I have a few vehicles and a trailer so this results in lots of calls every couple months. Agencies will even call me about my wife's and my family's vehicles. If I ignore the calls, some of these agencies will keep spamming me with more calls and text messages until the insurance expiry date.

So are these random agencies allowed to look up my file even if they weren't the ones that sold me insurance the last time it was renewed?

in my experience, one of the initials you do right at the end of an insurance purchase (at allwest anyway) is an internal form, not an icbc form. You could easily have initialed a small print box that gives them permission to reach out to you about renewals.

Yes it would fall under CASL but I thought it isn't in effect until July 1, 2017?

The main sections of CASL has been in effect since 2014. There's some other sections coming enforceable this July.
