Bird dropping damage

Hey guys so I bought a car that hasn't been in the best hands. The last owner left it outside when he went on vacation and the droppings sat on the paint for a while. It is a crystal black frs, the damage was mostly on the hood and some on the roof. Does anyone know if it can be fixed without having to paint the whole hood?

FYI FRS/BRZ has really weak and thin paint + coating. You're probably going to need a new paint job

Birds take up rocks and shit into their digestive tract so that they can "chew" food. Birds also pass off those same rocks and pebbles they swallow in their shit so when you wash bird shit off, be careful to soften their shit with plenty of water and soap before washing so you don't run rocks dry all over your paint while you scrub it off. Just a FYI for next time when a bird bombs your car with shit.

The worst part is that bird shit itself is already corrosive and concentrated since bird shit tends to be dry due to weight of holding a lot of liquid for the bird.

Getting a new hood sounds ideal but I still have the roof to deal with, you guys know any place that could paint the roof for a cheap price but good quality if there is any? Thanks

You can always make a comprehensive claim and pay your deductible if you have the proper coverage. That would be your best bet

That is fraud, not technically, claiming coverage for an incident that already occured? Thanks for contributing to our increase in insurance rates. Seriously, grow up. You buy a car and see that its already has bird shit damage on it, then you say you don't want or cant pay for a quality paint job, then you want to defraud our insurance system.

Suck it up and pay for it, or save up and drive around with it till you have enough to take care of it.

Depending on how severe the etching is, you should be able to buff it out.

For severe etching, I've been able to polish it to the point where it's not visible unless viewed from up close.

Note I call bullshit if the seller claims it etched deeply after a single vacation. More likely he was a lazy asss that neglected the car and let the poop sit for months.

If the paint is ruined then it needs paint. Otherwise you could have use this...

Then wash and maybe clay bar?

But if it damaged the paint now it looks like an old 88 CRX then you'll probably need a paint job
