2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS

A new beast from Porsche was launched at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK recently.

The 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS.

Specs: 3.8L twin turbo flat 6 engine. 700 hp!
-553 pounds of torque.

-water injected cooling.
-rear axle steering with sports setup.

0-100: 2.8 seconds

-only available with a seven speed dual clutch transmission.

Price: $334,000

Weissach Package option: $35,370

Package includes:

Exterior
Carbon fiber front lid painted with decorative stripes in exterior color
Carbon fiber roof painted with decorative stripes in exterior color
Carbon fiber rear wing with large ‘PORSCHE’ logo (in black or silver color, depending on the exterior color)
Interior
Steering wheel trim and gearshift paddles finished in carbon fiber save approximately 200 g (0.2 kg)
Additional plaque on cupholder cover with Weissach package logo
Headrests embroidered with Weissach package logo.

Chassis:

20-/21-inch 911 GT2 RS forged magnesium wheels (same dimensions as standard wheels), painted in White Gold Metallic, save approximately 25.35 lb (11.5 kg)
Anti roll bars and end links in carbon fiber.

always loved the stock roll-bar in the rear of RS models...i'd have it in any high horsepower car and feel a little safer

The ultimate super car IMO. It has always been my favorite aside from the F-40. I love everything about it would buy one in a heartbeat if I had the cheddar. No question.

Was hoping they would release a stick option, but I guess if you want stick shift you will have to buy the older model. On side note I wonder if the price jumped up on the older model because the new GT2RS only comes in pdk.

Is this the first production 2wd car that can do 0-60 in under 2.9 on street tires?

-not sure. I know that the GT2 RS is definitely quicker from 0-60 than the Ferrari 488. Drivers of this Porsche will beat those mainlander's Ferrari's in a drag or circuit race.

Nice comparo vid to the new GT3 @2:05. GT2 RS is going to be dominating all lap times, but man is the new GT3 a beast.
