Samsung Galaxy Note 8

Any of you guys getting the Galaxy Note 8?

$1299 CAD price tag...

The CPU is already in the middle of its life cycle, unless you can't live without a pen and dual camera, S8+ would be a better choice.

Yup, essentially $185 difference between S8+ and Note 8 is the pen/camera lol

Pre-ordered it today, should be getting free wireless charger and microSD.

Hope it actually arrives on sept 15th.

I'll likely order and get the phone. I'm using the S7 Edge and sick/tired of it due to the smaller size (I have big hands). I was using Note 4 before and the phone just crapped out and died before I picked up the S7 Edge.

Apparently Samsung USA is giving a discount up to $425 for customers who bought a note 7 last year, when trading in a device. Might be worth looking into if you had a note 7 last year.
Edit: Canada is doing a similar thing, but hasn't been officially announced what kind of discount it is.

The S8+ 6gb goes around $800cad in Asia, if you don't mind shipping it across the Pacific.

So, up to $425 including the device you are using? lol
I am guessing $425 only if you trade in a iPhone 7s Plus 128gb

nice phone but not very much faster than any other before it,better battery life...done..

and unless you're new to smart phones i don't think i wanna upgrade my S7 to load up apps milliseconds faster with 4 hours extra battery life

asian_XL 08-24-2017 01:10 AM

the 2017 phones can last more than 1 day, I doubt people will not charge it up before the battery is depleted.

My Samsung Note 2 can still serve what I need, the problem is the battery won't last for 6 hrs.

extracrunchie 08-24-2017 08:20 AM

Prices of phones nowadays is mind blowing............................

iwantaskyline 08-24-2017 08:57 AM

If you told me 5 years ago phones would start costing a grand plus I'd slap you...

Euro7r 08-24-2017 09:11 AM

^The days when phones were $700-800, that was already expensive enough. Now it's almost double....

DavidNguyen 08-24-2017 09:18 AM

I don't like how cell phone prices are rising. While PC CPUs are dropping. Booo

mr_chin 08-24-2017 01:45 PM

Oh, note 8.

Razor Ramon HG 08-24-2017 05:24 PM

Jesus, $1300 when the Note 7 was $1050 and the Canadian dollar was worse.

S8+ is the way better deal hands down.

winson604 08-24-2017 05:46 PM

Damn too ballin. Factor in taxes and getting warranty shit will run you like close to $1600. I'm still rocking the Note 5 which at this point in time is still the newest Note and just got a new battery and phone is still working like a champ.

if you are buying the high end PC CPU, it is not.

Mr.HappySilp 08-24-2017 09:01 PM

I see they put a lot of effort into the s-pen but honestly from a casual user I don't see I will use the pen much. Sure it have a lot of features but is not something I will use on a daily basis. Is nice to have but not a deal breaker but that price is a real deal breaker.

Maybe is just me but I like smaller phones (Iphone7, Sony mini series, One plusX). Smaller phones I can fit in my pocket and still able to walk confortably I can operate the phone with one hand easily.

Honestly speaking a cell phone these days can last a good 4+ years. Unless you are the top 5% who needs the newest to show off, you don't really need to switch your phone every year or even every other year.

vash13 09-14-2017 06:08 PM

Yeah I didn't get any notifications as well. I ordered that first day it was announced. It was nice to have it before release day tomorrow. I assumed it would be shipped out Sept 15. I think shipments are already out for pre orders so just check daily with the mail.

Alby 09-14-2017 06:29 PM

When I ordered mines, I didn't make an account, so I bought it as a guest. I created an account afterwards, but it doesn't have the order reflected.
