Home Painting Recommendations?

Looking at painting my condo prior to moving in. At first we were thinking of doing it ourselves, but realistically won't really have the time based on our schedules.

Anyone have recommendations for painters that are professional and would do a solid job? I will supply all the paint.

Also, how long should I put aside to have an 800 SF condo painted by professionals? 2 days enough?

if there's nothing inside it i'd say 2-3 days should be fine.

Painting fucking sucks so i think its worthwhile to hire somone to do a whole unit. Thing is, if there are dings and dents everywhere and you want those fixed as well that will add at least a day of work.

Dont have any recomendations but the quality of "painters" varries big time. Good luck and hopefully you find a good one

The place is only 6 years old, so the walls aren't in too bad shape. Don't think there are many dents, just a few scuffs.

Agreed on the quality of painters. That is why I'm hesitant to just hire anyone. Willing to pay the extra few bucks for someone who knows what they are doing, and will complete on time.

we used these guys and were satisfied with the job. Interior Painting in Vancouver and Burnaby | Hemlock Painting

we chose them based on their positive reviews on yelp.

super smooth. nice guys.

I bet they could do yours in one day, no? ours is 680 sq ft and they sent 3 people and it took 8 hours roughly for two coats including baseboard and trim. plus some drywall repair.

You would be surprised how fast they can do it if they are professionals. Even with drywall repair, they can use heat guns and stuff to speed up the drying time of the putty, for example.

Do you mind telling us how much they charged?

I can do a good job painting but may not have the time to do it. Especially if I have to break it up into 2 sessions.

We got a few quotes and found the average price is around $100 - $150 / hr. The average sized condo can be painted in about 8 hours with 2 coats. Not including the cost of paint. We supplied our own.

There's nothing like going to work in the morning, then coming home and the job is completely done. Money well spent.
