Has anyone used Clearbra.ca to do PPF As the title states, has anyone on here used Clearbra.ca to PPF their car? Any experience with their work (good/bad/indifferent) you can share? |
I wouldn't use 3M, it's hard to remove and it yellows. I would stick with Xpel or Suntek. |
Anyone in town you recommend? There's a bunch of different options (even when I narrow the search to xpel certifed installers) in town to get it done. |
I did mine at Glossworks: Services « GlossWorks You can find my CTR in the IG page: https://www.instagram.com/glossworks/?hl=en Terence is a super nice guy and the work was great. There were some peeling about a week after the Xpel install, but he fixed them for me right away. I'm thinking of going back for some extra protection in other areas. |
I used Ph Solar Film. Very happy with the job that was done. |
^ +1 for PH |
Hey H.S., thanks for the recommendation on PH Solar. I had them do the front end of the new winter car with Xpel. They did a great job. |
I’m curuious does the chrome pieces needed to be wrapped too? |
What parts were done and what does something like this cost? |

I'm not sure, up to you I guess? I didn't do any parts that can easily and cheaply be replaced (Kidney grilles etc.) Quote:

Does anyone know how long it can stay on for before it needs to be removed? |
Xpel has a 10 year warranty so i’d assume one would get at least that long out of it. |
i called around... clearbra.ca is soo much cheaper than everyone else.. has anyone actually tried it? reviews are a little hit and miss because the names are too similar to other in the industry.. so i can see reviews submitted are not for the the correct company |

Question about using PFF... Are they supposed to prevent light scratches (like self healing phone screens), or are they meant to accumulate scratches and then peel off "when it's time" ? And I assume if there are scratches, they can't be buffed out like on clear coat? I understand it's purpose of having a "shield" over your panel to protect the paint, but if scratches are going to go on it, they will be on the PFF which is kind of the same thing then, until you peel it off. But are they meant to be replaced often? Or is this something you leave on and peel off right before you decide to trade or sell the car? |
The Xpel film is self-healing, scratches disappear when heat is applied (heat from the sun or run a hair dryer over it.) |
i have decided to use 3m for my TYPE R. i will get the front CLIP and full hood / mirrors done. |
^ where did you go get the 3m film installed? |
I am in VICTORIA. there was only 1 local 3m shop here |
Has anyone tried both at the same time? Paint Coating (Cquartz) and PPF (Clear Bra)? If so, which one would you apply first? A local shop has told me to actually put the coating on the film as the coating has self-healing properties. I am kind of confused as I thought the PPF would be stronger for protection... |
1 Attachment(s) I had a different experience with an installer mentioned in this thread. Let's say I will never get ppf done again. That line on my cf roof is not where the ppf ended, that's a cut line from the razor blade that was used to trim the film. You can see the film was already partially pulled off at the top of the pic. |
Who is it? So the community knows who to watch out for. |
