Terence is a super nice guy and the work was great. There were some peeling about a week after the Xpel install, but he fixed them for me right away. I'm thinking of going back for some extra protection in other areas.
What parts were done and what does something like this cost?
Xpel film on the front bumper, partial hood, partial fenders, headlights, mirrors, it was $950 for my car. The price varies from one car to another depending on complexity.

Thanks for the info! I thought it would cost more than that.
Does anyone know how long it can stay on for before it needs to be removed?
i called around... clearbra.ca is soo much cheaper than everyone else.. has anyone actually tried it? reviews are a little hit and miss because the names are too similar to other in the industry.. so i can see reviews submitted are not for the the correct company
Are they supposed to prevent light scratches (like self healing phone screens), or are they meant to accumulate scratches and then peel off "when it's time" ?
And I assume if there are scratches, they can't be buffed out like on clear coat?
I understand it's purpose of having a "shield" over your panel to protect the paint, but if scratches are going to go on it, they will be on the PFF which is kind of the same thing then, until you peel it off.
But are they meant to be replaced often? Or is this something you leave on and peel off right before you decide to trade or sell the car?

Has anyone tried both at the same time? Paint Coating (Cquartz) and PPF (Clear Bra)? If so, which one would you apply first?
A local shop has told me to actually put the coating on the film as the coating has self-healing properties. I am kind of confused as I thought the PPF would be stronger for protection...

I had a different experience with an installer mentioned in this thread. Let's say I will never get ppf done again.
That line on my cf roof is not where the ppf ended, that's a cut line from the razor blade that was used to trim the film. You can see the film was already partially pulled off at the top of the pic.

You definitely want the clear bra on first as it needs a clean surface to seal too. With the extra slickness from the coating/sealant/wax you put under will affect the longevity of it sticking under various weather conditions. Clear bra basically takes the place of the "paint" and you want to protect that with your coatings and stuff.
Larry at AMMONYC/Phil at Detailersdomain and many others will say the same.
