Pothole (or road construction trench) eastbound in the middle lane on W Broadway before Kingsway, in Vancouver.
This is the third time going over this bump. 2nd time in my lowered car with 19" rims. I checked my rim both times and I didn't see any dents...
I keep forgetting about this hole. It's been there for a few weeks...

That's a nasty one, I went over it myself but lucky for me I was crawling in traffic. And that's a construction trench which are the worst because they're never patched properly and always crack leaving a massive hole.
there is a pothole that is slowly getting larger in the left southbound turn lane on willingdon and lougheed. that whole intersection is crap but this one is starting to gain depth as well.

They claim a 48 hrs avg turnaround time for repairs.
Back in spring / early summer I reported a pretty bad pothole on E49th and Tyne, and it was "repaired" relatively quickly. However, I cannot say the patch job was well done at all. The worse dip was indeed filled up, but the area still sinks in, and the patch itself was uneven / bumpy. If you are heading westbound on E49th, and turn left on Tyne, you will almost definitely hit it. Heading eastbound on 49th will also likely result in driving over it as well.
Any one in road construction know why the roads are being patched up like this, instead of being flattened down and smoothed out?
I've been seeing more and more of these type of patches just within this year.
The example above is actually a pretty "good" one. I've seen way worse or rougher finishes that are higher than that. A lot of these have been popping up and they're so new, they're not on Google maps yet.
If your car is lowered, you might not clear some of those. They're not that high on their own... but combined with the road dipping lower beside the patch due to normal usage, the height of some of them are actually higher than they look, since wheels never roll over them to wear that area down.
Getting fed up with these... I can clear like 95% of them. But all it takes is one and it's

i always thought that was spilled concrete from concrete mixers that don't have the chute cleaned out and the leftovers dump out as the truck starts moving?
