Putting this out there and hoping some RSer's have watched this amazing documentary. It's not for the faint of heart - over 18 hours spread over 10 episodes, but if you have a chance you should definitely catch at least some of it on PBS (KCTS in Vancouver/Seattle) or Online:

Tons of footage and new info I never heard of even as a history buff , plus the soundtrack is amazing for those that are into 60/70s rock.
His “The War” on WW2 is also a much watch. As you said with this one, the detail that he goes in to highlights many things I wasn’t aware of even as a relatively good WW2 buff

Yes "The War" was great as well. Can't believe it's 10 years old already (2007). Man I feel old.
This one actually has a ton of interviews from the Vietnamese perspective, which adds another layer of complexity. And probably why it's even longer than "The War" (18hrs vs 14hrs)
p.s. Vancouver in the early 1970s even makes a cameo! We were apparently Draft dodger central
Thanks for the heads up, didn't know there was a Vietnam one. I've seen the Ken Burns' series for WW2, Prohibition, American Civil War, and Baseball. Every single one is a great watch if you're remotely interested in the topic.
Ken Burns series commonly show up and disappear on Netflix.
Just got around to watching this today. It's free for a few episodes now. You'll have to get PBS passport at 60 dollars a year to watch it all in its entirety.
Lol, it was an offhand comment I made in RS chat back in October that inspired this thread, and I still haven't watched Ken Burns' Vietnam yet. It's on my list, though, super-duper promise
I've been waiting for Ken Burns to produce a doc series on something somewhat modern. Not saying that I don't like his other miniseries (e.g. Jazz, National Parks, Civil War, etc.), but I'm interested in seeing his filmmaking skills being put to use on a subject from after the mid-1960s
