How the fuck did Leia survive that blast and fly in orbital space. She must been smoking up some hard shit to pull that off.

Jesus who the fuck cares, it's a movie. One that's been out for like 2 months now. Are we going to start arguing about why "Han shot first" too?

I wonder if any losers here contributed to this?

Star Wars’ toxic fanbase may have driven The Last Jedi actress off Instagram

Ex-big SW fan here until life got in the way. Finally watched the movie on BluRay last night. (And I still haven't watched Solo yet... )

For the most part, I didn't really enjoy the movie. As a matter of fact, I rarely found myself immersed in it at all, whereas with the Force Awakens and Rogue One, I found those to be really capivating even despite their flaws. Would at most give the Last Jedi a 6/10, and parts of the movie was really quite boring.

For me, the best part of the movie was the Luke - Kylo Ren flashbacks as well as the Yoda - Luke scene. I found both to be very meaningful, and their relevance fitted well to the greater SW universe. I also generally found all the parts involving Luke to be well done, and I dont particularly favour Luke in any way at all.

For the whole time, I was expecting DJ to reveal himself as the specific codebreaker they were looking for. It wouldn't have hurt Disney to do that, and I think it would have worked out quite naturally as part of the plot too.

Everyone already mentioned the casino arc was unnecessary. IMO, it could have been condensed into 2 to 3 chunks that didn't involve anything nearly as grand, and still got the plot they needed. It would also have shortened the movie into a far more reasonable length.

A very interesting bit that captured my attention was how a child Force-grabbed a broom. Then again, visions of the child Anakin Skywalker immediately came up in my mind, and OMG that was quite a disaster...

It’s on Netflix so I rewatched it. I absolutely hated any part with Finn and Rose. So absolutely ham fisted and clunky. I really really liked any scene with Rey and Kylo. They had such an interesting chemistry, and every scene where they ‘visited’ each other had my attention. But if course they fucked it up by making him stay even and having her stay good.

I feel somewhat different about the Rey and Kylo Ren scenes. Some of them were good, but some of them felt forced, or maybe even comical. There was one scene when Kyle Ren wanted to connect to Rey, and Rey blurted out something along the lines of "No, not right now!" The first thing I thought of was some 90's teen soap opera where they were calling each other on the phone.

Corny to say the least.

Didn't see it in theatres, watched on Netflix tonight. Probably a 6.5/10 movie for me.

The opening scene with Poe set the tone for me with a phone prank and mother jokes. Like come on ... Obviously, I'm not a Star Wars fan otherwise I would've seen it in theatres, but even I felt that was face-palm worthy and really lost the immersion right off the bat.

There were some okay parts, more than a few eye-rolls, story was meh, cinematics were to expectations for a big budget movie.

Man, star wars was really supposed to be a somewhat serious movie with some humour here and there. They totally ruined the mood with comedy, cuteness, and cheesiness everywhere. The new trilogy is like a wannabe mcu but the original star wars were supposed to be more serious like rogue one.

I finally got around to watching it, I figured I'd be disappointed after TFA and R1 but this was probably worse than expected. The part that boggles my mind is that Disney is huge, the budget for these films is huge (as evidenced by the CGI, etc) yet it seems like the writers are college dropouts that accidentally wandered into a "Creative Writing 101" lecture that they hired for beer money. Why do they seem to be going with almost deliberately poor plots? How do huge teams of people sign off on some of this stuff as a good idea?

Next to the OG 3 Rogue One is easily my 4th favorite Star Wars movies with the other 5 being garbage and Solo being just ok.

Unlike the original trilogy, this new one is clearly Disney-fied to please their main demographic which is young kids.
