Saw somewhere's that they're dropping the Honda platform and starting their own.

1.5L turbo would be a huge disappointment since that's what the CRV has

At no point did the RDX and CRV share the same engine, so they better not start now

2.0T would be acceptable as base engine, with an option for the MDX sports hybrid SH-SH-AWD would be ideal

GF's CX5 lease expires in August and looking to upgrade into the luxury side of things. So far the new CX5d (not really luxury but might as well look at it), XC40, X1, Lexus NX (without that stupid cow catcher front bumper) and now this Acura seem to be in the running.

they finally got rid of that god awful dual screen. Hopefully they modernize the UI.

OP you've obviously owned a few first-year fresh model releases
have you ever ran into any major problems?

So, I gotta ask... What's the sedan that flashes on screen at the 11 second mark? Is it a concept car that I've missed seeing at some point in the past?

Acura Precision concept, it's the new design language they said they would use after the beak.

There's no way it's not the 2.0L turbo - the RDX has always had significantly more motor than the CR-V. Expect it to be a premium gas tuned version of the Accord 2L so figure 260-270hp.

A hybrid should be expected but will it be a fuel economy special (say the Accord Hybrid's drivetrain) or will it be a performance special (say the e-SH-AWD in the rear)? My money is on the latter as I suspect a fuel economy special will come in the form of the CDX (or whatever Acura calls their next small SUV.

these older honda acuras are great. my 93 civic si hatch got to 320 000kms on the clutch... but it was the tranny that died first..

The RL was a great car minus the non-luxury gauge cluster, many SRS issues fixed under warranty and V8 fuel economy without the power lol

it will look similar to an Acura CDX.

Not a real mans truck. MDX would be tho.
