Enjoying this thing too much stock to mess with it yet. Worried that once I mess with wheels/suspension like I did with the TL it won't be as enjoyable to drive

^ not sure new wheels and tires can look better than the OEMs, but if you went lightweight forged wheels with similar dimensions, it will definitely drive better. Those OEMs wheels are super heavy.....

First EVER auto-x, done. I eventually want to track, but I figure if I'm buying upgrades, I should set a base line, and see the improvements as I go.
Had a pretty shit time, but shaved off 3.5 seconds from my 1st clean run to my last run. Not bad considering I'm a total noob, running winters front and PSS rear, with shot suspension.
Also just got my new summer tires! Gonna test these babies out on the next Auto X (also going to be running the CH full time). Still need suspension, Bilstein's backordered, so I need to decide between H&R Street Performance (I don't like H&R - but height adjustability), BC Racing (8K front; 12k rear - I hear they ride like shit), and just Koni Yellows (I want height adjustability, but these don't ride like shit)

^^ once my supersports are done, im looking at those tires. For the price point they seem very good for an entry level track day tire. Let me know what you think

Got it for under 800 for 245/35/19. Supposed no slip on e46 m3 even with TC full off. Will let you know after second or third auto x. I'll probably start a new thread.

Shit photo. Just about to pack up for the day. Young girl just got her cherry popped, and definitely not without a few batttle scars. Most notably my fog light surrounds flying off at 200, and having to use my freshly painted wheels that are now scorched white
Ah shit I totally didn't realize it was you.. I was parked right in front of you in the blue FRS lmao

Obligatory track day photo. First one ever, and the best part? Le gf was super stoked as well. The bug has bit...
Sweet looking car dude! I didn't know you were on RS haha I'll say hi next time. I was in a blue FRS, saw you at Chevron as well after the event

I ran my Continental ECS for the first session at Ridge and they had more grip than I expected. Not sure how they'd do a whole day though. Awesome tires for daily though and my favorite part is their wet grip.
Big thanks to !aznboi128 for the pic! featuring saucywoman in the passenger seat for a ride along and swfk in his CTR just coming out of the frame

IMO, the Indy 500 are a fantastic value, but grip-wise, they do not compare as favourably as PSS. They could probably wear slower than PSS though.
The Pilot Sport 4S is the successor to the PSS, and this year, it is finally available in more sizes, including many of the popular 17" options. I have not driven on this tire yet, but according to all the reviews I've read, if you liked the PSS, you will like the PS4S even more, esp in the wet.
If the PS4S doesn't have your size, or if you prefer something a bit cheaper while still performing at the PS4S' level, the Continental ExtremeContact Sport is a really good option. Dry grip is excellent, though tests show it lags behind the PS4S by just a hair. Wet grip, on the other hand, is out of this world. (I run this on my DD / autox car, and I absolutely love the tire.)

The Indy 500 is really just a re-badge of the Bridgestone RE003. Bridgestone owns Firestone, and while they sell the RE003 at the international market as RE003, they added the tire to Firestone's portfolio for the N.American market.
@traum yeah I’ve seen a few ps4s come through the shop but haven’t driven on them yet. But for the size I’d be looking at, say 255/35r18 the PSS is about $349 a tire, the Indy 500 is $172, so I could literally get twice as many tires for the price. Will definitely sacrifice some grip, but I’m very green on the track anyways so some slip will keep me in check.

Firestone has a $100 mail in rebate, up until next week. It defs sweetened the deal for me. I'm probably not gonna expect it to do as well as my current PSS, but there's a lot more usable range. Honestly, as long as it's not shit in the rain, I'll be a happy camper.
I actually got the Indy's bc I didn't want to learn on the best tire. That and less stress on my subframe.

Quattro Tires, had to pay shipping, but still cheaper than PMC LOL. Took about 10 days to ship (from Quebec), but these two were the only ones that had the sizes I wanted. Note, they do not ship to PO Box or Canada Post FlexDelivery.

Were you near golftown/thriftys/shoppers/bed bath beyond in North Van a couple days ago? I noticed the carbon lip and exhaust on an LBB M2. It looked amazing.
