If you haven't got them tinted yet, try out Nmotion, on lougheed hwy and holdom.

Anyone tried The Dip Dr? I see them on instagram all the time and they seem to be super busy all the time.

I've used them twice and haven't had any issues.

FerrariEnzo 04-19-2019 06:22 PM

So Street Legal is still best place or is there another? any good places in richmond?

matrixfwd 08-11-2021 04:11 PM

Any updates on revent experience? How about Larry Lee is he still in business?

ilovebacon 08-11-2021 04:28 PM

So the most affordable location is with Larry lee?

headhunt3r 08-11-2021 04:47 PM

Related but maybe I'm hijacking the thread... Any recommendations for PPF?

Took my BMW X1 to Street Legal Tint in the Vancouver location.

Very satisfied with the results and pricing.

I did the back 5 windows for about 280 ish after taxes.

matrixfwd 08-11-2021 06:16 PM

Thanks for sharing. How recent was this?

I would say it's pretty recent, did it last year in summer time.

Autowerkes Exclusive. May be pricier than others but the quality of work and attention to detail is worth it.

I recently got 2 cars done at Street Legal at their Port Moody location, super happy with the quality and pricing was awesome. Got it done earlier this summer.

Hey guys, anyone done it recently and could recommend a location for me to go?
I saw a thread a while go and had my bmw tinted by the guys close to Kingsway & Knight/Fraser which was recommended. I didn't think they actually did a good job on it so I would like to try a different place this time for my new car.
TIA!

Were you not happy with PH Solar? I had heard great things and was planning on going there. What issues did you have with the bmw if this is the place you weren't happy with?

AzNightmare 08-16-2021 03:52 AM

What are the average prices now?

I remember back in 2014, PH Solar charged $199 cash for the rear 5 windows.
Yau Bong also charged $200 cash, but sounds like they closed shop a while back.

JDMDreams 08-16-2021 06:55 AM

I recall it was $60-70 a window, even if it was those tiny corner windows when I last got tint

Had my windows tinted at PH Solar back in 2013. Still looking great.

Anyone tried a place called Strictly Autotint in Richmond? The pictures seems to show he does tint for automall dealerships.

RDI Detailing in Richmond. Heaps of luxury cars passing through his gates - Roman is a good dude. He's done ceramic for me a couple times - been very happy with the results.

I haven't but tint vendors for dealers typically do fast/mass produced work and that doesn't always mean quality.

If you' in that area, I recommend Nixon @ Street Legal on Marine. He's done all my cars and a few people at my store.
He trains a lot of other tinters as well.

matrixfwd 10-22-2021 12:22 PM

So I ended up going with Pedro at Strictly Autotint. He did a really good job. Nice guy, clean shop on Bridgeport.

I was surprised he was able to trace the film right up to the edge on the back door windows when I finally cracked it open to check the other day.

The last time I got tint on another car with Larry, he left a few mm untinted gap at the top.

Vansterdam 05-19-2022 05:18 AM

Bump

Looking for some tints if you guys got any recommendations :)

Eyeing PH solar, strictly autotints or street legal

Probably end up hearing the same as above posts. The 3 you have listed are the same three I considered.

They are all good so I’d say just choose the one most convenient for you.

68style 05-19-2022 03:59 PM

I went with a guy off facebook based on some recommendations a couple years ago for tint cuz it was super cheap, he did a good job on my friends car but on mine there were some bubbles a few days later he said he'd come fix but he never did/ghosted me... and he showed up with a darker tint than I wanted for the back window since it's big and needs a wider roll... he didn't have the tint level I requested in the wide roll... I decided to still go through with it and still regret it to this day/want to get it redone.

TLDR: Wish I had gone with one of the above recommendations instead!

Badhobz 05-19-2022 04:42 PM

Street legal & Tint for sure.

Nixon's a real car guy and just a overall fantastic human being. Ask him about his DTM collection he got stored in the back... glorious. I did my lexus for 280 bucks, he offered me a discount, i didnt even take it. Reward for such excellent work.

JDMDreams 05-19-2022 05:09 PM

How many Windows for $280? I have a few cars I want to get tinted
