STOLEN: BMW E65 745i

Hey guys, a coworker's dad's vehicle was stolen from his home today, which was also broken into through the vehicle, along with his own car which was broken into at work

Vehicle to look out for is a silver 2004 E65 745i on Style 128 wheels with Pirelli PZeros, license plate 173TJE.

Was stolen between 12:30pm to 2pm on Feb 23rd from Richmond.

Image for reference.

Hard to miss these things driving around on those OEM 21s. Let's keep our eyes peeled guys.

Thanks.

and P Zeros aren't going to get very far in this weather...expect this in a ditch if driven?

Unless he has sentimental attachments to it, I'd say good riddance. Those things are money pits. The theif was probably doing him a favor. Plus with this snow it'll be likely smashed already.

I'll keep my eyes peeled. Those 7 series are getting rare in Richmond.

They took the garage door opener from his Civic which was broken into at work, drove to his house after they found the address from his insurance papers in the glove box, got into the house through the garage and got the keys to the 7, and drove it away after ransacking the house.

But yeah, unless it was put on a flatbed or tow truck it could’ve have gotten very far in this weather with those tires

I'll keep my eyes peeled.

But when did your co-worker get his Civic broken into? Was it the same day it happened?

Damn that is a crappy way of getting things stolen. Now I'm scared to keep my garage door opener in the car.

^ its easier to just not keep your insurance papers in the glovebox. at least take some effort to hide them.

You actually can redact your address from your insurance papers. Surprised more people don't do this...

Or just move to Vancouver.

... Cause you won't have a garage anyway.

damn sucks to hear.

On the lighter side, it's a 2004 E65, the thieves couldn't have got far.

I did not know that's even a thing, will I void my papers if I rip the address portion out? Too lazy to stop by the insurance place

I believe you have to photo copy it or scan it with the address blacked out

TouringTeg's method is probably the best way.

White out your address on the original insurance papers and then photocopy. At no point does anyone else need to know your registered address.

you can ask whoever you go to for insurance to make a copy with the address whited out, i've been doing this for years. keep the original copy at home and the photocopied one for the car.

First thing to do if your remote gets stolen, is to reset the garage door opener.
