There is a group in Kelowna called the Kelowna Snow Wheelers. They're all big 4x4s ranging from 44" to 54" tires, some upwards of 1300hp with 634 cubic inch motors and 350+ shots of nitrus. Tube frame chassis, 4 wheel independent air ride suspension with military axles. Some of them are worth like $200k
Yesterday they held an event for the first time at out (shitty) drag strip called Thunder Mountain Raceway. Check out the vid my buddy put together.
Funny one of my friends daughters (who’s in some 7 slot society thing) mentioned this to me last week, forgot about it. Is this event still going on or a one time thing? I’m up around salmon arm/penticton/Kelowna first two weeks of March, I’d love to go watch

One time thing so far. They usually do it on a frozen lake somewhere on their own but this year they rented out the track. I dont think spectators was even something they thought about, but word got out and Id guess there were 500+ people watching.
Id think they would do it once or twice a year maybe. Seemed like a big success
The cool shit is these are just a bunch of guys who all wheel together every weekend. They aren't purpose built race cars or 'monster trucks' or anything. Just their weekend toys and they all get tons of use.
