westopher 07-06-2021 11:13 AM

No, just hyperbole, for now anyways.

:okay: still waiting for Lexus to release pricing. None of the dealers have any more info.

So everyone here drivin balling cars that require 91 or 94 or what?!?!

Nothin like emptying the bank account and burning dinosaurs in the same time

stump 07-06-2021 03:58 PM

Sold one car that takes premium and bought another car that takes premium. Maybe I didn't think that one through very well.

Alpine 07-06-2021 05:46 PM

I’ve got 2 options in the driveway… I could take the wife’s car that requires premium, or I could take my car that takes premium…

JDMDreams 07-06-2021 06:46 PM

I sold my 4 cylinder that takes regular cuz I bought a v8 that takes premium so I bought another 4 cylinder that I think needs premium :okay: I did the math though, the difference is about $6.5 on a 52 liter tank on regular Vs 91

BIC_BAWS 07-06-2021 07:09 PM

I plated my M3 for the year... Gotta drive it. But gas is so expensive aghhhh.

Can't decide whether to use my JOURNIE discount (7c/L) on 100L of 87 or 100L of 91. For the daily or for the weekend car that also gets driven?

Have a 4CYL, but its a turbo so premium only. Eff. Going to be real mental barrier once it hits $2.00/L.

Asked my wife if the V6 power of her RAV4 was worth the gas prices, she said yes. I married well.

I was on the waitlist for the RAV4 Prime earlier this year but decided to back out after hearing the asking price. Although gas prices are high, the overall savings from not buying a brand new car is still greater than the increased gas prices I'm paying.

All my cars require premium. My Infiniti's gas tank is huge too. Easy $105 fill up from near E and this was earlier this year. Haven't done it yet but it's currently half tank so may as well let it continue to fall

mgb needs 94 because no ethanol :alone:

Traum 07-07-2021 12:07 AM

My 100hp car is ECU-tuned to require 91 octane gas, but it really runs best when it is on Shell V-Power and Chevron 94, both of which I think are 28¢/L higher than regular gas. :alonehappy:

I have wondered the same thing for my Pilot/Civic (87) and M340 (91)!

Then I realized it doesn’t matter, either way you’re saving 7c/L regardless of which type of gas you get. If it was a percent off, then obviously you’d use it on the more expensive grade! :)

CorneringArtist 07-07-2021 07:06 AM

My car can run 87, but gets full power on 91. You can guess which option I take especially since I don't want to nuke my turbo.

cliff notes for journie? 7 cents look enticing, but i don't bank with cibc. Too busy trying to research appliances these days.

Cliff notes: you get 1 point per litre of gas, and 2 points for every $1 you spend in store. There are 3 tiers of rewards, at the 75, 150, and 300 point marks. At the first and second tiers, you get a few options for free candy/snacks/drinks in store (or just bonus points). Tier 3 is the 7c/L x100 L discount. After hitting 300 points the cycle starts over.

There can be point promos, and if you bank with CIBC the points accumulate faster.

If you bank with cibc it's 10c/L

Can multiple people use the same account? With Shell, I've been typing in the air miles # to pool it all in 1 account.

And if it cycles once it reaches 300, does that mean I need to keep a close eye on my points to make the most of the discount at 300?

With the JOURNIE app, it'll give you a notification that you reached 300pts. However, since it's $0.07/L discount up to 100L, I keep an eye on it so I grab my Jerry cans and not fill up 40L at 7c off.

Having all these accounts, cards, "savings websites", couponing is a waste of time

By the time you make account, give away all your information to advertising and marketing companies, fill your wallet with 20 "membership" cards, spend 3hrs trying to redeem blackout day flights, buy shit you dont need, spam emails with "deals"

All over what, to save 7$ once a year?

Cashback credit card, done

JDMDreams 07-07-2021 02:47 PM

^^ we need to open Point Roberts, just point Roberts to save their economy. Need that sweet sweet Murica 92 juice.
