Seriously, is there any sort of oversight or explanation as to what is contributing to these insane gas prices?

afaik there isnt some new transit or gas tax applied... what is it?

Fxxk this... I'm not cancelling my last S2S drive on Friday before the "winter tire" requirement kicks in...

(The only thing that has the power to ruin my plans is me sleeping through my alarm clock LOL~)

If the Great Resignation is a real thing. Gas prices must have contributed something to it.

With a number of people moving to the suburbs to WFM. They're now burdened with mortgage debt and can't afford to commute back to the office. :lawl:

Propaganda wants us to drive EVs.. How else do we get people interested in EV?
The states are already trying to ban ICE sales by 2035..

Canada has also set a date for 2035. Gas companies are trying to make as much money as they can before most people go EV.

Paid off principal on a mortgaged condo, not total gross income

Razor Ramon HG 09-28-2022 02:22 PM

TFW your car is running low on fuel and prices are close to all time high

:ohgodwhy:

inv4zn 09-28-2022 03:06 PM

lol, predicting the price on a commodity, but no there's no price fixing there. FFS.

Corporate profits. Luckily these oil companies have tricked people into being mad at the government for using the money for things like roads and environmental initiatives instead of being mad at CEOs taking home 25 million dollar bonuses and shareholder profits.

Gerbs 09-28-2022 03:17 PM

better buy some more gas stocks lol

MarkyMark 09-28-2022 04:10 PM

Even if everyone got pissed off at oil company CEO's would they even care? They'd make up some excuse for the high price and we just have to nod our head.

On another note just cost $232 to fill up my truck.

whitev70r 09-28-2022 04:18 PM

Something isn't making sense if the reason is "Pacific Northwest refineries are offline or backed up, or whatever" ... why is gas in Belligham, Blaine, almost 1/2 the price? Is there price collusion just in the Metro Vancouver area?

MarkyMark 09-28-2022 04:34 PM

Maybe they want to milk every last dime we have before everyones interest rates are so high we have to sell our vehicles to pay the mortgage.

Badhobz 09-28-2022 04:56 PM

i dont know about you guys, but im kinda used to filling up at over 150 bucks a tank now. The price has been so high for so long i dont remember when it was 1.40a litre anymore.

Also kinda used to paying over 200 bucks at costco for a little cart that barely has 2-3 meals in it.

teggy604 09-28-2022 05:12 PM

Let's say most ppl go electric. Our grocery bills will still be through the roof. The trucks, planes, train still running on oil and gas.

whitev70r 09-28-2022 07:00 PM

Best investment to commute, if it works for you, is an ebike. I mean sure ... go EV but the initial overhead cost is off the charts ... takes you forever to recapture the investment cost.

68style 09-29-2022 08:28 AM

Gotta pay to play! Also fuck oil companies

$150 for your LC?

Thats pretty good!

My NA Miata took >$100 to fill yesterday @ $2.489 per L, wasn't even empty tank.

Even my bike took $34 to fill... LOL

trollface 09-29-2022 08:53 AM

Your Miata has a larger thank than my FRS?

dark0821 09-29-2022 09:10 AM

^ The miata has a 57L Tank according to Google, but I never filled anything close to that.

There is no "low gas light" on the dash for the NA miata, so the most I have put in is like 45L? And that was me scared shitless that my engine will die anytime.

I try not to go below half tank at any given time, but the perfect storm of good weather, motorcycle riding taking demo home to pick up clients the next shift all contributed to the miata being used like 5 times in September lol...
