I was butt hurt about that. The chevron across the street had its premium for 3.79 a gallon.

vantrip 04-28-2018 06:13 AM

drove by a few gas stations this morning in van gas has hit $1.60

StanleyR 04-28-2018 09:47 AM

:okay:

Nabatron 04-28-2018 10:04 AM

i dont get how in the states some gas stations charge 10cents more for using your credit/debit compared to cash. I mean it still cheaper both ways compared to the terrible prices here.

Seriously, what can a normal citizen do to start a class action - the like the bread issue.

Imperial Oil just hiked their dividend on higher profits. That shit should somehow show cause and effect.

Shit that happens when gas prices are too damn high:

https://globalnews.ca/news/4174219/l...-gas-drilling/

Quote:

Gas prices in Metro Vancouver are set to hit all new highs on Sunday, reaching up to $1.62 per litre in parts of the region.

Thieves, meanwhile, are devising all new ways to steal it out of people’s tanks.
A number of trucks had their tanks sapped of gas on Walnut Grove Drive in Langley on Monday morning.

Brent Theidale was one victim whose tank was tapped.

He found a quarter-sized hole drilled into his truck’s plastic fuel tank.

Langley RCMP have been notified about the incidents.

Replacing a fuel tank costs over $1,000. But with gas prices where they are, stealing a truck tank’s worth of gas could sap people of an additional $130.

“I’ve got a feeling I’ll be seeing more like this,” said Rick Cosco, the owner of a Big O Tires location, looking at a tapped fuel tank.

“And it’s unfortunate because it’s a real kick in the backside.”

The days of drill thefts likely aren’t done, with prices set to climb by as much as $0.02 per litre on Sunday.

Theilade is claiming the damage through insurance, but the deductible is about $300.

“Somebody knows where to drill the hole and maybe has experience with a certain type of vehicle,” he said.

It’s proof that gas thieves are literally hitting a new low.

Hmmm... spend all that time on a lawsuit for maybe a one time pay out of a $25 gas card..... or just put your money into Imperial Oil and collect the dividend until the world runs out of oil.... decisions... decisions...

This is getting stupid. Sucks for us car enthusiasts that love to drive to get our minds away from the hectic stresses of day to day life.

Acura604 04-30-2018 08:07 AM

So what are the 'premium gas' folks doing? i mean.. is it really at $1.85 per litre? holy crap. but keep in mind....USA prem in BLAINE is also slowly creeping up at $1.29 per litre after conversion.

Next time i do a USA run...i'll go further out to may be Ferndale.

JDMDreams 04-30-2018 08:12 AM

I filled at pr on sat 1.099 so after conversion about 1.45 let's say for 92

Its costing me $85 for a fill up. I mean, all last summer was $75, so I really don't feel that rattled by it.
$600k studio apartments are the issue here. Gas prices are small potatoes. It's twice as much in the UK, its gonna get a lot more here. Start working on solutions for your own lives. Get a bus pass, find a job with less of a commute, get in shape and ride a bike. Lots of people don't have the option, which sucks, but those that do need to take it.

That's freaking expensive!

Premium gas is 3.35 at Bellingham Costco. After conversion, works out to be $1.15 per litre CAD

I mean the extra drive down to Bellingham isn't worth it for gas, unless you do a trader Joe's run or any other grocery run

EDIT: and carrying Jerry cans

Acura604 04-30-2018 09:00 AM

Screw it.. .i'm buying a 5th jerry.

Everytime I come back to Canada, the border agents tell me "you know gas in jerries is taxable right?" lol...

been taxed ONCE out of approx 5yrs (or longer) of going to Blaine for filllups with jerries. (i go 3 times a month)

68style 04-30-2018 10:51 AM

I'd rather pay local prices than spend the time going across the border / stand there pouring jerry cans into my car / storing those giant potential firebombs in my home / carrying them home with all the fumes............... but that's just me

hchang 04-30-2018 11:25 AM

Filled up last night for $1.52/L at Shell North Delta 84th and 112

It's a sad day when we have to say this like $1.52/L is a good deal. I swear it was only months ago when I filled up with some Chevron 94 at 144.4/L. :(

Badhobz 04-30-2018 12:49 PM

This is crap!!!!

That feeling when you put in $150 and only get 3/4 of a tank... And it's 87.

I tried mid grade for the first time. I feared the car was gonna explode, but nothing happened LOL. If anything it seemed to run smoother?

Acceleration was slightly down, but that could have been b/c I was running with 1/2 a tank for a week or so (added weight). Aside from that, just a (slightly) cheaper fill
