It is bloody $2.6/L after discount.

1. go to shell.com US site
2. sign up for Rewards. YES, you will need a US address for your hardcopy card that you don't need.

This is what i did:

- signed up with fake name
- sent card to the shell gas station on D st
- my complete 7 digit phone number is my 'alt id' that I can enter at the pump manually without a card.

you ALWAYS get 5 cents off per gallon, as you buy more you will be surprised to save 20 cents per gallon and sometimes 30 cents per gallon like I did last time:

Put in $40 last night, only got me a half tank (22L?) I see this summers going to suck ass.

twitchyzero 03-16-2021 09:35 AM

i also miss harbour freight for chinesium goods as well as trader joes

mikemhg 03-16-2021 12:06 PM

I'm actually surprised no one has brought up gas prices as of late. It's pretty crazy we're sitting @ $1.50 and we aren't even into summer yet.

This jump is quite unprecedented in terms of short timespan.

pastarocket 03-16-2021 12:55 PM

I cannot imagine what gas prices in the Lower Mainland will be during the May long weekend. The Victoria Day long weekend is the "official" start of summer driving season in BC and the rest of Canada.

Acura604 03-16-2021 01:01 PM

1.70+ for prem.. not to mention the 3rd gen / 2021 RDX is shit on gas....but hey at least i'm having fun.

BIC_BAWS 03-16-2021 05:26 PM

$1.83 for 94 LOL. Good thing im too cheap to run 94. My last M3 was tuned for 94, so I had to run 94 :(

Probably will skip out on track season and continue to daily the civic, given the lack of cheap parts availability. Can't go down to the border to pick up packages or get gas.

Teriyaki 03-16-2021 06:05 PM

Losing the ability to get cheap gas across the border really hurts.

EvoFire 03-16-2021 08:05 PM

I noticed the gas prices going up on the boards, but I use so little gas it doesn't hurt nearly as much.

Once every 2-3 weeks for the family car, once every 2 months for the toy.

twitchyzero 03-16-2021 08:11 PM

local pump a year ago was around 85 cents

TopsyCrett 03-17-2021 08:29 AM

Yeah... time to insure the scooter and get 80 MPG on 94. Just have to let my b*lls thaw out after the commute to work these cold mornings.

Only managing to get 15-16 MPG after putting 33's on the QX4. Requires 91 as well.

CorneringArtist 03-17-2021 09:23 AM

Back to Costco 91 for me. Couldn't be arsed to do it before work to beat the lines, but here we are.

but same engine as pathfinder which takes regular?

SkunkWorks 03-17-2021 10:23 AM

Thank goodness I still have the Insight. Can't imagine having to daily anything that uses 91+ once the summer prices hit.

JDMDreams 03-17-2021 12:26 PM

Just filled up today $58 for 40l regularFeelsBadMan

16cents / Kw I believe that's twice as much as in Canada, but parking lot offers free charging from 5 to 11kw/hr.

Supercharger is about 50cents / Kw, about Cad$37.5 per full charge:concentrate:

My boss at work is talking about having people return to the office instead of WFH. I am totally not looking forward to do that at all, and that projected $1.70/L summer gas price (and probably $2/L for 91 which is what my car is tuned for) is one of the very real reasons why I don't want to go back.

Sad. I've put my Stinger into storage and i've picked up a $300 '02 civic off my coworker to drive. I was paying over $400/mo for gas on the Stinger, driving about 30k kms a year. This civic will save me for the Summer.

twitchyzero 03-19-2021 08:00 AM

get a nd, i can hit almost 40mpg and still have fun
if you feeling thrifty, you can put regular in too

almost got a v8 truck last year, knew i'd cry if i went that route

Acura604 07-06-2021 09:12 AM

lol... 1.54 is now a pipe dream...

westopher 07-06-2021 10:13 AM

Change title to "gas expected to hit $2.04 a litre next weekend"
