Aftermarket LED bulb experience

I'm looking to update my fog lights to LEDs - anyone have any experience with any particular brands?

Specifically looking for H7. I'm seeing plenty of options on amazon and ebay but want something that wont disintegrate within the next 3 months. Doesn't matter if it produces error codes since I can code those out.

I'm using https://brightsource.ca bulbs in my cars, and so far I've been quite happy.

Not H7s but I installed Car Rover H11s on my daily for the low beams and Nighteye (now called NovSight), also H11 in my fogs. I've been using them for about one year now and they both work great!

XenonDepot's kit with Philips LumiLED while good build quality, aren't bright enough (but I'm comparing with Morimoto bi-xenon HIDs)

$20 Chinese LED low beam and high beam (with fan cooling), LED yellow foglights have arrived, but not yet installed

The box says 55w, but actually it is 32w or even lower. 5000K looks quite 6000K to me, but so far so good.

Would recommend Cree bulbs. Unfortunately though there are fakes so buy it from a proper vender, but can definitely tell the difference just by light output while still being a lot brighter than your average bulb and reliable. Definitely good value for the money. Morimotos if you want to ball out though imo lol.

Thanks everyone in this thread. I ended up ordering Eagle Quietvision as per recommendation from a friend. He has them on his Dodge Ram which seem to light up the entire parking lot.

Anybody try the ones where you can put different films on? Curious to see the differences between the two yellow films.

I swapped out the headlight bulbs and fog lights in my wife's car in 2016 with:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Both have been working with zero problems for 2 years now, and huge improvement over stock (into projector headlight housing).

I've seen my friends car with led bulbs, color is nice but very dim and some even advertise as not meant for use on headlights. I'm actually looking for new bulbs for my projector fog lights. I've had 3000k hid fog lights before and I'm not sure if it's cuz they were cheap but they turn out to be green or neon high lighter yellow. Not a deep yellow. I'm thinking of doing yellow tint with 4300k. But if anyone has good experience with 3000k led bulbs let me know. I've just heard most cheaper ones are bad cuz either they are dim, burn out, over heat or fans fail.

yah be warned...sometimes the 'stock oem' projector lens does NOT work very well with LEDs.. .light is scattered like shit. i tried the OPT7 set above on a 2016 civic and it was JUNK.

I don't recommend the LEDs with optional yellow tints.
They tend to give out more of a lime-ish yellow/green colour than a true 3000k yellow.

not LEDs but just get Nokya Hyper Yellows and be done with...$20 gets you reliability, deep yellow, more-than adequate output...have them in my high-beams for DRLs

LEDs are nice for flashers and brake lights, but they're totally unnecessary if they aren't from factory (unless they've drastically improved in the last 2 years)

Nokya Hyper Yellows for $20 per bulb? or 2 bulbs for $20?

All I see are $50 for 2 bulbs

That being said, has anyone tried LED bulb without fans? Do they go kaput quickly?

20 bucks/pair shipped to the US

they've lasted me around 5 years now...just bought a pair in 921 last month

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...Desc=0&_sop=12

the fanless xenondepots with aluminum leaf heat spreaders in ours is still going strong after 3 years, but like i said, output isn't significantly better than stock haolgens

2 sided bulbs will have dark area and 6000k is difficult to see at night.
My car comes with projectors, so it doesn't blind anyone with the 4 sided one and super bright 5000k light (the headlight level in the picture was on the lowest setting)

I got them from China, you probably see it on ebay. It costs me $60 a pair, but seems like there are some replica that goes as low as $40 a pair.

Serious question because I'm not that smart: How is installing aftermarket LED bulbs in a halogen housing different or better than putting HIDs in a halogen housing, which usually results in awful glare for other drivers?
