Private Insurance for optional coverage?

I thought I saw a thread similar to this but couldnt find it anymore.

Is it cheaper to go through private insurance for optional coverage or just stick to ICBC? My current one is ending soon

7 years driver, clean record.

Get quotes.

ICBC was WAAAAAAY cheaper for me than private ... 18 years of driving, no accidents, no points/tickets.

I know other people who say private is cheaper for them.

For me, BCAA was cheaper than ICBC by less than $50. I stayed with ICBC.

For motorcycles, yes Private is way cheaper. For cars I noticed not as much.
