Maybe cause they don't have resources to investigate random boiler rooms in third world countries and then try to have them extradited to stand trial in Canada?

It's probably easier to once a year announce on the news that scammers will be praying on the elderly and naive. honestly if a grown adult who is not mentally challenged falls for this shit its hard to have sympathy for them

CRA uses direct lines. All lines employees phone you from is the direct line.

It only goes to a switchboard if you're calling one of the inquirer lines.

Yeah but you can't call them back with the number that they call you with. I get calls daily from them.

Because I have many clients that request items for refund, have questions, cases to have been reviewed.

Usually once you have been audited once, you will always get audited. Unfortunately for me, most of my clients become my clients after they get audited.

I got one of those calls yesterday. I was at work so I didn't take it and it went to Voice mail. Wasted 30 seconds of my life since I have to listen to the message first before I can delete it.

lol, I can't remember the last time I picked up the phone from a random number and it turned out to actually be useful or relevant.

I simply stopped picking up calls now unless it's someone on my contact list.

I love it when scammers call.

I keep them on the line and tell them my whole life story, what I did in the morning, yesterday and how I am so depressed. I've had some hang up on me. One told me to fuck off. I've had some crying.

Oh, and I tell them, "This call is being recorded. I think it's required by law. Honesty is best policy." Always end with..................god bless.

i spoke with one of them recently, was a good chat, they told me the call centre is from pakistan and they hated indians. Good try buddy, it is India....


also, there was so much background noise (obviously since its a call centre).

Someone picked up, I can hear back ground noise. Sounds like big call center.
The guy said "This is CRA collection agency, how can I help you ?"

So, I ask the guy, what do you need in order to open my case.
The guy when quiet for a second. Then, phone got dropped again.


Any of you guys got this kinda call ??

CRA agent and me was laughing at this number, he said this happened every year at this time frame.
So which was it?

Did you google, call the number multiple times or call the CRA?

I'm envious of the amount of time you have, to make all these calls and then make a thread about it.

i checked on google first, it came out a company call fibernetic company.
But i checked again, the phone number doesn't even match...

so, i called CRA 1-800 number to verify 778 381 7771
The agent on the phone said to ignore it.

I have also double check my tax account balance. it is 0 as well.

Conclusion: 778 381 7771 is a scam number.

been getting two of them within half hour span. Fucken bitches. I always try to call back to curse at them.

no you don't lol. hit 7 once during the message (twice on some systems) and it will delete it... unless you're old school and have a cassette based answering machine lol.

Yes, they call me, my mom, my landline, etc. The interesting thing is that they keep using different numbers. It's pretty fucking annoying cause I don't even know wtf they're saying.

Bf got a voicemail today from some Indian chick heavy accent claiming to be Officer Scarlett Roy phone # 226-316-2532 saying there's a claim that was filed against him for tax evasion/fraud and his physical properties are under investigation. Apparently his aunt got a similar call also a 226 number.

I Googled the number and it doesn't come up as anything. I called and it just rang for a long time and disconnected. I'm gonna call them tmro during business hours and pretend I got the call then tell them to go fuck themselves lol.
