CRA call - Phone number 778 381 7778
 

778 381 7778, i got a call from this number.
Its a voice mail type of the call. (Robot calling)

Says its calling from CRA help desk collection agency.
It says that I have debt needs to be paid, please, wait on the line for the next officer. (As I know I don't have any tax owing...lol)

Then, the phone call got dropped.
so, I called back, and same message and got dropped again.

Later, I used different phone and called.
Someone picked up, I can hear back ground noise. Sounds like big call center.
The guy said "This is CRA collection agency, how can I help you ?"

So, I ask the guy, what do you need in order to open my case.
The guy when quiet for a second. Then, phone got dropped again.


Any of you guys got this kinda call ??

theyre going to ask you to pay your back taxes, usually in bitcoin or itunes giftcards since thats CRA preferred payment method. make sure you do cause they might send the RCMP over to your house and disrespect your whole family.

on a more serious note, obvious scammer, they prey on the stupid so please dont be one of them. if you are actually concerned look up CRA toll free number and call them

The CRA would call you, but they would never use robots. And the number they called you with, you would not be able to dial back. They use an extension of their main directory. They will mention their agent number, mention your specific name, company business number, SIN #, etc.

So this is a scammer.

I got one of those in my voicemail. The guy sounded Indian. He had an aggressive tone about owing the CRA money, and they would punish me somehow if I didn't call them back.

Found one post about this phone call. It is from a place called fibernetics.

So, I actually called CRA 1-800 number to verify it.

CRA agent and me was laughing at this number, he said this happened every year at this time frame.

Scam the scammer.......... use robot to call them to the point they will have to disconnect the line.

I keep getting calls from Stephen Hawking saying there's a warrant for my arrest... thanks for the tip, I'm going to be skipping town now.

Dude you fucked up your taxes. This is a serious issue. It's a criminal offense and jail time is very likely unless you call that number back and pay whatever fees necessary.

I downloaded the ownage prank app and been calling back these scammers to troll :fuckyea:.

tell them to come arrest you :D

Yup, I just did a few days ago. I knew it was a scam since I'm not chinese and I have nothing to do with the chinese government.

Wonder why the RCMP don’t do anything about this. Isn’t it a major crime to impersonate a government official?

I got a letter from CRA saying that I owed them money and listed a number to call. I know it was legit because I did deposit the exact amount into my account on their website. So here I am ready to have all the answers for whomever picked up my call.

Long story short, after getting disconnected a few times after talking to the switchboard, I finally get someone that will talk to me. The first question he asked me was "What is CRA?". Turns out the number is a debt collection agency in the US but they've never heard of Canada Revenue and it's listed on the letter I got from CRA. What a screwup!
