| SUV/CUV choices, advise and suggestions
So after looking around some more for a nice CUV/SUV, I think Ive got some choices..
Hyundai Kona / Tuscon
Toyota Rav4 (2019)
Mazda CX3 / CX5
These ones still not sure. Volvo and Mercedes was a final toss in because they look pretty good and price wise isnt too expensive. Volvo has that weird shifter..
Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross
Volvo XC40
Mercedes GLA
Anyone has experiences with most of these cars, please give your thoughts.
My finance on my current car is finished in June...

My finance on my current car is finished in June... | Volvo shifter is pretty much a normal automatic shifter.
I don't think a xc40 comes with the crystal dildo shifter, that one is fucked up.
edit: nvm, it did come with the fucked up dildo shifter but wrapped in leather. I would wait for the phev xc40 if i were you. Nothing like hogging up the charging spot so mg1 can't charge.

Drives like how much it costs. My 17 Civic hatch ride quality is on par with it. Interior is the new age - cheapo benz plastic style, small small cabin, shares many interior components with the Infiniti QX30. Really buying for the badge with this one, your money can go bit further. Kona
If you care about resale value at all, don't finance this one. Lease it, beat it, ditch it. Handles well for what it is. 1st model year car from a brand that hasn't been super strong in terms of reliability/quality. The main draw is the price - Which can add up because the base comes very base. CX-3
Small, tight cabin, good driving dynamics. Steering is precise. Downside is lack of luggage space, overall size (It's a hatchback, not a CUV). Available with great tech.
Only know these 3 well enough to comment. If I were in your shoes I would be between the XC40 and Rav4. XC40 reviews have been very, very good.

| CX-5
Had the 2014 model before, then traded it in for the 2015 Toyota Sienna.
Overall, interior quality was nice, not too cheap but too expensive looking.
Cargo room decent, even with one stroller in the trunk.
Performance was adequate for what it is. I think around 185 HP area, but the steering was magnificent. Very sporty like.
In the end, IF I only had 1 kid, and didn't need to haul around the grandparents, I would have kept my CX-5.
What other factors are you considering when buying a CUV/SUV?

My Mom has the 2016 CX5 and I like it a lot but not so much as having 2.. so I might lean away from this one..
The one big feature I love is the Panorama sunroof, Tucson and XC40 both have it, not sure about Rav4 and CX5.
Im starting to like the XC40, saw a bunch of reviews from different countries to see the overall opinion. One thing I hate on it is the shift, you have to double tap the shift down to go into drive, double tap up to go into reverse. The manual power up and down is left and right on the shift.. other then this 1 big ass flaw, i think it might be the one..
Has anyone driven the XC40? any comments?

Has anyone driven the XC40? any comments? | If you want a XC 40 you have to order one and it's a 7 month wait.

if your current car is finished in June theres not enough time for you to get the XC40 as said above. If you want the pano roof, the cx5 would not have that so Tucson would be the better option.
I have a cx-3 but driven all of Mazda's lineup of cars. If you like driving feel you'll love how Mazdas drive but they suffer in other aspects. Both the cx3 and cx5 has small trunk space and their infotainment system isn't the best. The Tucson with the 1.6 is pretty punchy and plenty of torque around town.
Thing to note: pano roof on Hyundais tends to rattle/ sequel after a while.

My dad has a CX-5 and it's probably the most fun CUV to drive out there, except for straight line speed. There is no panoramic sunroof available. Mazda also has very attractive lease/finance rates

Since you're considering the Rav4 and Tucson might as well look at a Ford Escape or Honda CRV as well.
Escape has a panoramic moonroof and a decently peppy 2L. 0% for 48 months
CRV looks pretty cool and has a bunch of tech stuff available

I wouldn't consider the CRV until the fuel/oil dilution issue with the 1.5L turbo engine is figured out, said to affect mostly colder areas. CRV sales in China have halted as the government wasn't satisfied with Honda's solution to reflash the ECU.
I've been lurking around the CRV forums and all Honda is doing so far is taking names and telling dealerships to change the oil when people complain that their oil level is 1-2" higher than the max mark on the dip stick.

Judging from carcomplaints.com, CRV seems to have the highest problems by far, followed by a large distance Tucson, then CX5, and finally RAV4 being the lowest
Mind you, CRV probably has one of the highest number sold thus more people using = more complaints too.

Has anyone driven the XC40? any comments? | Drove the XC40. You'll get used to the weird ass shifter, double tapping into R and D. You can turn off the car in D and it'll go back to park like in a BMW.
The manual mode is one tap down from drive and you slap it left and right. Pushing down cycles between manual mode and drive.

you got warranty behind you so it should be good and volvo has been doing alot of buy back even though they are 2+ year old due to new car teething issues.

Is it a CRV-only problem? Or does it affect other applications of Honda's 1.5T engine as well? If it does, wouldn't Honda be fxxked since it is pretty ubiquitous across their lineup?

Yup. The ones up here are fucked. Some lady posted about it on the classifieds page and that Honda is wiping their hands of it. Oil change time and fuel comes out of it haha.
This is for a CRV.
Gotta make sure the front is covered right up and take it out on the highway regularly and do some WOT pulls to heat everything up.
