These guys were Antifa. https://smartcdn.prod.postmedia.digi...trip=all&w=564 |
Antifa has been fighting Nazis since the 1930's. They all just have different names now |
Quote:
I wonder how many of them held beliefs that would be considered racist by todays antifa's |

History of Antifa Battle cable street oct 4th 1936. Fascist black shirts with police protection try to march thru a Jewish neighborhood. Antifascists fight back and stop the march. Seems very similar to what is happening in the U.S. WW2 vets https://www.timesofisrael.com/when-j...rising-racism/ Quote:

see lai is not equivalent to the N word... it's a word like samurai: is it racist when your first thought is a feudal era warrior from japan? |

We can only hope that the Proudboys movement doesn't become a big thing in Canada, and you don't join them if they do. |

The closed mind statement you started with is the exact premise in which I am speaking against. I've never claimed to admire Trump, I am not racist, I never equated anything to the 'n word'; you all did that on your own; it's who you are. I have stated over and over how many people nowadays love to hate, jump to their own opinionated conclusions, and then feel it is perfectly okay to pass their hate onto that person in some derogatory remark or with physical violence. Go ahead, read it again. My opinion and it is just my opinion, is that the way C-Lai is used here on this forum, from the years I have seen it used, has not been used in an endearing remark towards a particular group of people. |

I just don't want to hear about you eventually getting mad enough to go around assaulting minorities. I can see that you're watching tons of these violent videos and posting some here. Please just don't get involved in that. |

https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E5%B8%AB%E5%A5%B6 There's the definition for you. In case you aren't seeing the difference, it's a term shaped by its own culture to have a certain connotation, albeit negative. What it isn't is a word made up by an external culture to systemically degrade and vilify a certain demographic. Is it endearing? No. Is it racist? Also no. Is the n-word racist? Absolutely yes. Also, again, https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/...VsXoAo3ovC.jpg |
^ Skinnydawg, your tone and attitude is why people hate the libs. You are condescending, personal, presumptiuous, and just an overall arse. While you point things out to others and expect them to see it so clearly, why can't you see the log in your own eyes? Why can't you see that you are annoying as hell, stubborn and willfully ignorant and that's the way you are. Please surrender your mod responsibilities. |

I tend to stop reading his posts when he starts calling people Trumptards. Same as I would if others call people Snowflakes. That's like the lowest of the logical fallacies. |

Not infected with divisive cockamamie "solutions" like racial equity programs or critical race theory. People treat each other like people rather than skin colours and they're much less divisible because of it. Imagine that. Probably just not sophisticated enough. |
^^ I just don't understand how he can't see that the things he hates in others, he embodies those very things. He's close minded, thinks he is always right, not open to any other points of views, and just labels people who have a different perspective as ignorant and trolls. They'll let anybody be a mod here. |

Other people have put things in a much better way than I could ever hope to. Even other members here... I came around on the topic, and all I can hope is that others do to. But if they don't, I can just hope that the ignorance is innocuous, and building hatred doesn't lead them down a dark path so many people in America have gone down in the last 4 years or so. (also ignorant doesn't mean stupid, so nobody is calling you stupid.) (and nobody here has been called trumptard. The closest one is welfare but he's more troll than anything. I don't think anyone here is on record of actually being in support of trump to the point where they'd vote for him. I think people just like to be contrarian mostly, and have other problems with "the libs" and "libtards" that just takes form of seeming pro trump in some weird ways. But it generally stays online so it's fine) |

Also I am open to many points of view. I am happy to hear points of view from people all around the world, all sorts of religions, atheist, old people, young people, etc. I used to share many of the points of view of the people I am now arguing with. I literally campaigned for Stockwell Day in 2000 LUL That's the environment we all grew up in. I never thought myself to be a racist either, until I realized that it's pretty much human nature to be racist. That reality affects some people more than others, and it's up to us to try to do things to counter balance that. Now tell me how that statement is an insult to you or zedbra or anyone else, and how I "hate" you guys for not agreeing with me. Yes I "think I'm right" with this. If I didn't, I would try to learn more and try to get it right. That's what learning is, and trying to be a better person. Edit: I will concede that I tend to overdo it with hyperbole when I write, and that's a bad habit I'll try not to fall into as much. Especially when it's addressing other people here SeemsGood |
