Rosanne running her mouth (fingers?) off doesn't seem to be part pattern of hers, nor was racism. She seems to lean left on the political spectrum from what I can tell. Why bring Trump into this? Because she said once that she supported him, in jest?

From what I've read she's a huge Trump supporter, even her character on the TV show is one.

Leaning left? she is a big trump supporter and is a right wing nut, think welfare. She is also big on conspiracy theories.
trump even called her after the first episode debuted.
personally, i don't care one way or the other if it's cancelled.
but the record breaking ratings did prove that there's a huge market for a show that has at least one character who openly supports the president. i know, crazy. almost as if audiences are getting tired of the trump bashing from all angles.

Only from the left would citizens celebrate their disdain for a mayor who took their city from a notoriously crime ridden hell hole and transformed it into a place they could raise their kids.
On his birthday.

Roseanne making racist "jokes" isn't an attack on Trump supporters/the right; it's an attack on assholes. Don't be an asshole.
BTW, many people on the show tendered their resignation after the tweet (Wanda Sykes, co-stars, etc.), so even if ABC didn't cancel the show, it was unlikely to continue, anyways.

I agree.
And i wouldn't expect them not to cancel it.

I was going to watch this video just to see how they would find a way to blame "the left" for Roseanne fucking up
But as soon as they brought up the tweet
They started complaining how everyone focused on the word "APE"
That's when I stopped watching it. Even though I already knew it would be a gong show, it was worse than I had even expected.
I've been a Roseanne fan for 30 years now probably, but she has gone insane with the Trump stuff. Not just the typical "Trump supporter" which is fine, but we're talking crazy conspiracy theories Alex Jones would barely touch.
She's a crazy lady now, and that's sad because the reboot was truly hilarious, and I thought did a good job of showing how people can be ignorant Trump supporters, but still be pretty decent people. But nope, all down the drain, and all the great actors on that show are out of work.

He was also banging one of his employees while married who the city was paying for. Must be great to be able to bang one of your employees on company time. His own son didn't support him when he tried to run for president. He was to busy golfing.
Whats wrong with stormy? trump sure liked her and gave her a lot of money.

She's been more of a socialist than a liberal or republican. She's 100% into Trump though, and believes a lot of the stuff like pizzagate and Trump rescuing children from Democratic child prostitution rings.
Her comedy style has always been about "rocking the boat" and making outlandish comments. Calling a black person an ape though... that is so far beyond acceptable. Even if it was funny, which I can't imagine it ever would be.
Roseanne was a liberal, in the classical sense. Not the radicalized left that it's become.
There's no interest in teaching. Only suppression.
Everyone makes mistakes. Some have, at the very least, the moral character to recognize them.

I already complained enough about people making fun of Trump for how he looks in the original thread. It's stupid, but at the same time you can't compare it to racism.
That being said, the use of Orangutan is pretty clever in a way if you think about it
From Joy Reid to Kathy Griffin "that was different".
There's just no shame from the "morally superior".

He is pointing out that the tolerant, forgiving Left has all but disappeared in mainstream society. It has been replaced by the intolerant Left, which is quick to destroy and shun anyone they disagree with including anyone associated with them. They will often devolve into their identity politics to the point of "eating their own. The Right is not innocent of this behaviour either, but when have they ever been known for tolerance and forgiveness? He is not excusing or attempting to blame the Left for Roseanne's actions. Your inability to even hear him out, is further evidence to his point.
The point of complaining about how people focused on the ape part of the tweet, is that if Roseanne truly meant to compare her to an ape, and all the racial connotations that come with it, she would have said: "muslim brotherhood and ape had a baby".
Now if you could take a moment to look at all the side by side photos of Valerie Jarrett to Helena Bonham Carter's Ari from Planet of the Apes. Perhaps this is where the comparison was made, with human-acted ape-like characters, rather than with apes themselves ? Perhaps this is akin to white people dressing up as black people for Halloween and not understanding the connection to racial black face and why it is offensive? Is that not a teachable moment to which the Left was so adept at?
Yes she made a really bad joke here, one which she apologized for. It is impossible to say for certain what her true intentions were behind her tweet. The only way to tell is by her actions going forward, to see if she has learned from this experience. Unfortunately, society is progressing to where punishment is immediate, and second chances are not given.

I will admit that she is a funny woman.
But Wanda Sykes is terrifying. She is the ultimate SJW. She's a black, openly lesbian feminist Hollywood power player. The worst kind of person to get on the bad side of.

I don’t know why anyone is trying to rationalize this at all.. Roseanne has a known psychiatric history, has been on antipsychotics in the past. She’s Jewish I think and has flipped and flopped between being proud of her heritage to becoming an anti-Semitic. She ran for the Green Party at one point against Jill Stein, and now she’s a hard core republican. She’s a bit off her rocker.
It’s so depressing watching the news down here and knowing that grown adults are being paid to sit around a desk (in this case at CNN) and talk about a TV show being cancelled non-stop for like 3 days now. There’s beating a dead horse and there’s American news media. Even more depressing to think millions of grown adults are glued to this non-stop coverage and opinion pieces.
It’s just soooo painful. There’s so much happening in the world and so much going on domestically and internationally literally every second of every day and this is all they can do?

The mainstream media really has become a joke.
From segments airing health professionals to discuss trumps daily intake of (i can't believe they even took this literally) 12 diet cokes, to breaking news on how he eats kfc with a knife and fork.
Keeping in mind these are probably the highest paid journalists in the country.
Even more laughable is CNN's claims of impartiality.
Just a complete and utter joke

It's scary how many people on this planet allow themselves to be mentally conditioned by the media. The governments no longer need a propaganda department. That's the media's job now.
Meanwhile, their corporate overlords are just
Media is just a business like any other and their goal is to make money. You'll make more money on retarded feel good / feel bad stories and stretch them out over days. Meanwhile, stories with scientific or economic substance lag behind and are usually just inserts before the top of the next hour where they'll just recap their bullshit pieces once the clock rolls over. Facts are boring and have nothing to do with feelings. Look at the current social climate right now.
Trump Derangement Syndrome: Over the long weekend, President Trump's critics were in a sputtering rage over his supposedly losing 1,500 illegal immigrant children, sticking them in cages, and putting others on specially equipped prison buses. Turns out, it was all 100% bogus.
On Sunday, photos of children laying inside a chain-link fence cage starting flying around the internet. New York Times Magazine editor-in-chief Jake Silverstein forwarded it to his followers, saying that "all of these photos are disturbing, but the first two are especially awful."
CNN's Hadas Gold described the pictures as "First Photos of separated migrant children at holding facility."
Outrage quickly followed.
"This is happening right now," said former Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau. "Speechless. This is not who we are as a nation," said Antonio Villaraigosa, who is running for California governor. Actress Rosanna Arquette called it a "sick crime against Humanity"
Turns out the photos were taken in 2014 — when, ahem, President Obama was in the White House, a fact that nobody bothered to check before blowing a gasket. Once word of that fact got out, many of these same people deleted their tweets, rather than admit that the "sick crime" happened under their beloved Obama.
Next, there was a picture showing a bus outfitted with child safety seats being used at an ICE family detention center in Karnes County, Texas. ABC Houston reporter Antonio Arellano tweeted the picture on Sunday, describing it as "a prison bus just for babies."
Again, outrage ensued.
"Unconscionable and inhumane, "said Texas Sen. Sylvia Garcia. "This is what we've come to under Donald Trump," said Stephen King. Others tweeted: "your new gestapo at work," "this is what fascism looks like," "we live in a dark period of American history," "moral abomination." Etc., etc.
Oops. Turns out this picture, too, was taken when Obama was president. And, the bus was actually used to take the children on field trips to places like the San Antonio Zoo, a nearby park, the movies, as well as for medical treatment and court appointments.
So much for the Trump-era inhumane prison bus for babies.
'Lost' Children
Finally, there was the story flying around over the weekend about how the Trump administration had "lost" almost 1,500 illegal immigrant children who'd been "ripped" from their parents after crossing the border.
That sparked yet out another round of hair-pulling outrage.
"What is more shameful than forcibly separating, in America, parents from infant children at the border? And then, losing track of those children?" Preet Bhara, former U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, tweeted.
Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro said that "when I think about the 1500 lost children … I come back to the same thought: If we can't stop this in America we can't stop it anywhere."
Turns out the children hadn't been "forcibly" taken away from their parents, and they weren't lost, either.
As the New York Times explained on Monday, these children didn't come across the southwest border with their parents, they came across illegally on their own. As the Times explains, the children in question are part of the government's long-standing relocation program for "unaccompanied alien children," in which the children get released to sponsor families.
'Lost' By Obama
Back in 2008, the inspector general for the Health and Human Services department noted that HHS and Homeland Security weren't regularly checking in on these children to make sure they were doing OK with their sponsor families. So, HHS started following up with the sponsors 30 days after the children's release.
But, as the IG noted in a follow-up July 2017 report, HHS doesn't always succeed in its attempts to reach the sponsors. It reported that in the first half of 2016, HHS couldn't reach 16% of the 25,975 children placed with sponsors during those months.
In other words, under President Obama, the government "lost" 4,156 illegal immigrant children in just the first six months of 2016!
Anyone recall anyone complaining about the inhumanity of this when it was happening under Obama? Of course not.
Trump's critics are increasingly behaving like reckless, irresponsible, childish, hate-filled, divisive, uninformed scaremongers who will believe anything that makes Trump look bad. In other words, they are showing themselves to be everything they accuse Trump of being.
