Anyone would have expected a basic level of courtesy and manner in which the president carries himself. Trump is anything but that. He doesn't even have the decency that any average person should have had, and yet he is occupying the single most important and powerful position in the US.

As the head of state, Trump should have been more aware of proper protocol and manners than anyone else. You can forgive a backwaters farmer in the countryside to not know how to properly address the Queen if she chooses to visit him. But for Trump to not have been briefed on what he should have done, and how he should have acted? Yeah right.

And just to add, I'm pretty certain it is a super rare incident for *anyone* to walk in front of the Queen in a formal setting where formal royal protocol is required. Contrary to your belief, it has NOT happened a million times.

When in Rome, do as the Romans. You are their guests, at least have the courtesy and respect to follow their customs. This is common sense, basic courtesy ... doesn't matter if you're a commoner or the POTUS but especially if you're the President since you represent the country and presumably have some sort of cultural intelligence.

The (not) bowing / curtsy wasn't really the big deal. The really rude thing to do was to walk in front of the Queen when they were supposed to walk together to conduct the Royal Guard inspection / ceremony. Walking in front of the Queen during an official event? Seriously? When paying official visits to the Queen, the Prime Minister of the UK exits the room by walking backwards so as to not show his/her back to the Queen.

And what did Trump do again?

They showed up on time. 5 sharp.
Prince Charles and William didn't show because they refused to meet him. That's intentional.

What he says / writes has no bearing because that can flip flop 180° in a matter of minutes. He only says / writes what is convenient to him at the moment.
