I'm not sure what you are asking, Hakkaboy.

What I was saying above is -- I think right now, the major US media not supporting Trump are either delusional or intentionally not reporting the real picture in attempt to paint a picture that Biden would still have a good chance of winning office.

I think it is absolutely ridiculous that the GOP is nominating Trump as the Republican candidate.

P0NYB0Y 06-02-2024 11:12 PM

The fact is that it is ridiculous but not unexpected. When you have so much political power, it's not surprising when certain media cover for you. If I'm being honest, I don't know if there is something we can do (on an individual level)

Sorry I thought you were saying that the media were unfair to Trump because he's such a victim and did nothing wrong.

As for your clarified point, if what you are saying is true, in that the media is biased and reporting that Biden will still win because they are biased and straight up not reporting accurately, then it will actually have the same effect as voter suppression and have the opposite effect of what you are accusing them of.

Let me put it this way, exaggerated so that you may see the point easier:

If the biased media is reporting that Biden will win a landslide over Trump, then what do you think happen to the minds of potential Biden voters? Do you think they will still go out and vote if they hear that Biden's going to win anyways? Some still will, but I'm sure there will be some who think their vote will not matter as much so they are not going to bother to go the extra mile and vote.

Traum 06-03-2024 10:47 AM

I don't think the US media was hiding the polling results, where Trump had generally been leading Biden by a few percentage points. But IMO, the pro-Biden / Dems media had been painting it as a more rosy picture than what the reality was. Prior to Trump's guilty verdict, I think Trump probably had some much stronger support among American voters than the polls were suggesting, and that Biden would be unable to win the election.

In this case, the pro-Biden media's job was to paint a picture more rosy than reality to drum up support, that while Biden is a little behind in the polling, they can still beat Trump if the Democrats voter base mobilize. This "trailing behind but we still have a chance" type of scenario is a good one to use to mobilize support cuz an adversity that can be overcome brings people together. If an adversity cannot be overcome, a lot of people would just give up trying.

To my surprise, voter sentiments seem to have shifted somewhat after Trump's guilty verdict -- fewer people are supporting Trump / GOP now because of the guilty verdict. More people than before think Trump should end his candidacy now that he has been found guilty. It remains to be seen how widespread and significant this shift in attitude is though.

If I was head of pro-Biden, 'anyone but Trump' camp, I would purposefully color/hide numbers to portray Biden as behind to get the voters out.

EXACTLY!

Lol Trump had a tangent recently about sharks and electrocution:

This is real:

Hondaracer 06-27-2024 05:50 PM

JFC.. how can Trump not win??

This fucking debate Biden is like grandpa on deaths door who everyone pats on the head, there’s been at least 5 times where he malfunctioned and just trailed off into -nothing- this is absolutely insane that they thought they could trot him out for this

And the funny thing is, he’s probably on all sorts of shit just to get him functioning enough for this state

westopher 06-27-2024 06:00 PM

I'm not voting for the old guy that's crazy! I'll vote for the slightly less old senile guy that's a racist rapist!

Hondaracer 06-27-2024 06:19 PM

Biden doesn’t even know what a rapist is at this point

westopher 06-27-2024 06:23 PM

They are both objectively terrible, but trump is worse in every metric other than a slight advantage in (poorly) walking.
Modern politics is fucking satire at this point.

Why am I not surprised you went for that dumb shit :lol

GS8 06-27-2024 08:39 PM

And then everyone went home that night

whitev70r 06-27-2024 08:40 PM

Why is the United States of America, the 'greatest' country in the world, trotting both of these clowns as presidential candidate?

Vote for Biden and hope that Kamala Harris can hold down the fort ??!!

Hakkaboy 06-27-2024 09:25 PM

why isn't anyone challenging Biden for the democratic party?

Heck, I'd vote for Pete Buttigieg even though I have no idea what his policies are or if he's a complete leftwing nut, but at least he sounds way more intelligent than any of these guys.

SkinnyPupp 06-27-2024 10:02 PM

Some corrections on some of Trump's claims. They should have been doing this DURING the debate, not after. What a farce

Traum 06-27-2024 11:27 PM

I watched it for the first 10 min or so, and couldn't bear to keep on watching. Even from just those 10+ min alone, it is pretty obvious what the tone of the remaining 80 mins are gonna be like, including how Biden would have his senior moments just like he did within the first 10 min of a 90 min "debate". FailFish

What a farce this is... and God bless America...

Non comedy

whitev70r 06-28-2024 06:12 AM

If you're Dems top strategist, what can be done to replace Biden on the ballot to defeat Trump? Is there a way to even do that given the primaries are all done. Which Dem candidate could possibly go head to head with Galumph? I can't think of one .. maybe Hakeem Jeffries? If only the US was like Canada in this regard ... no term limit for PM or Prez .. bring back Obama!

SkinnyPupp 06-28-2024 06:44 AM

You can't replace him, you just have to hope enough sane people see through Trump and realize how much of a disaster he would be, and actually vote. Despite the bad optics of Biden. We know idiots will go out and vote for Trump, how many normal people will vote?

Presidents have had bad debates and won, and good debates and lost. It's not the be-all end-all. Biden was bad, but not catastrophically.

68style 06-28-2024 07:28 AM

It's crazy, the second that Biden won the 2020 election, they should have already been grooming his replacement and he should have been asking for that to happen and mentoring them along. But noooooooooo for reasons unknown nothing has been done and here we are. On top of that, I'm not a big fan of Kamala Harris, but she at least has good TV presence and they just continually muzzle her.

I mean, things have gotten so crazy that I heard Mitt Romney doing an interview the other day. I remember when he was running and I was like no way they can let this fucker win... he sounded completely reasonable and damn near likeable in today's climate... like listening to him talk I was like I would vote for this motherfucker if he was running today. If you had told me 10+ years ago I'd say that today I'd have asked wtf could have possibly happened for that to occur.

punkwax 06-28-2024 08:11 AM

I thought Kamala was going to take over during this term, myself.

sonick 06-28-2024 08:24 AM

lol

Traum 06-28-2024 09:09 AM

According to one of the analysts that I've read, Biden can be replaced by another candidate on the condition that he agrees to and cooperate with the nominee replacement process, but it would still be a very tough thing to pull off. There is just so little time, and it is unlikely that Biden will agree to such an arrangement.

The next most sure-fire way that another Democrat nominee replaces Biden is -- if Biden croaks between now and November lol~

Meanwhile, I think this meme is pretty awesome LOL~

Here is the feedback that CNN correspondent Van Jones gave about the Biden vs. Trump debate from last night.

He said it was a debate between an "old man and a con man".

Jones gave a really honest opinion about Biden's performance. "It was abysmal". "hard to watch Biden's performance".

Sleepy Joe got an F for presentation at the debate. Biden was talking like Homer Simpson's Dad haha. He stumbled at many times during the debate. He got terms wrong such as "Paris Accord" instead "Paris Climate Accords".

As for substance, both Biden and Trump got bad grades based on CNN's ratings. Biden got a D. Trump got a failing grade. An F.

Trump did score a B+ in terms of presentation during the debate.

Cheeto is a con man. He is the most dishonest former US president in my opinion.

https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/27/polit...ate/index.html

Trump made a lot more false and misleading claims than Biden during the debate.

Trump lies. Dishonesty is part of his DNA. He cannot handle the truth.

He deflects and lies throughout his Q and A's with the press. He made more lies during the debate with Biden on Thursday night.

When Biden pressed him to answer questions about the January 2021 riots at the U.S. Capitol buildings in Washington, D.C., Trump did not answer the questions.

I can tell you that all my American cousins who live in California and Arizona do not want to vote for either Trump or Biden.

However, they would rather vote for a President who speaks more truthfully and runs the country better than orange face, dishonest Cheeto. The lesser of two evils so to speak.

Remember, Trump is a convicted felon found guilty of 34 counts of fraud. A fucking criminal!

Trump reminds me of the worst used car salesmen that you can find at a shady dealership. The ultimate con man.

Great presentation and communication skills from a con man who can sell you a lemon of vehicle. :lawl:
