Good ... let the Trump followers get complacent and not come out to vote if it is that high.

But part of me thinks Trump is just setting things up for a riot, rigged election, stolen narrative if he loses. "We polled 71% ... how could we lose ??!!"

westopher 11-01-2024 08:19 AM

If trump wins the US is fucked for 4 years.
If he loses, might be exactly the same, and potentially even more violent.

Living down here in Texas, it's feeling like Trump winning is inevitable. The excitement and energy Harris had in the summer has certainly died down. I truly believe there is a large portion of the country who just want to see everything crash and burn, the social experiment of democracy seems past the point of fixing, people are too damn indoctrinated and polarized, I don't see a way out of this.

I’m starting to think that this entire Trump campaign is a social experiment of sorts by the monied power brokers of the country to see how far they can push the boundaries of propaganda, misinformation and disinformation.

I’d broker to say that the success they observed by propagating these lies spouted out by such a flawed candidate bodes well for their plans in the future. They’ve gotten to observe that it’s quite easy to launch a war of subterfuge and effectively convince half the populace to vote for the embodiment of a pile of shit. I picture them laughing in country club rooms at how gullible and stupid people are.

Did anyone hear Musk's Freudian flip recently about Trump/Republicans purposely crashing the economy, and this whole idea of abolishing income taxes in lieu of tariffs? This smells like 2008 or the collapse of the Soviet Union all over again. Wealth transfer, these guys want to tank the economy and scoop up and buy all the assets they can, they're literally telling you what they plan to do here. It's absolutely insane people are falling for this.

We’re toast buds. Trump will come and go, but the future as a whole is looking scary to me.

pastarocket 11-01-2024 09:40 AM

My gosh. Cheeto is levelling up in terms of his evil ways.

Telling his supporters to shoot Liz Cheney.

https://www.cnn.com/2024/11/01/polit...tle/index.html

Donald Trump said former Rep. Liz Cheney is a “war hawk” who should be fired upon, as he raged against one of his most prominent intra-party critics while campaigning Thursday night in Arizona.

“She’s a radical war hawk. Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, OK?” the former president said at a campaign event in Glendale with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson. “Let’s see how she feels about it, you know, when the guns are trained on her face.”

Trump also hurled insults at Cheney, once the third-ranking Republican in House leadership, calling her “very dumb,” a “stupid person” and “the moron.”

Trump’s suggestion that Cheney be fired upon represents an escalation of the violent language he has used to target his political foes

68style 11-01-2024 12:16 PM

He also said RFK Jr should be in charge of women's health... cuz you know, he has a lot of experience with women.

As in his ex-wife killed herself after finding a journal he made detailing 37 times he cheated on her complete with a rating system for each encounter.

westopher 11-01-2024 12:28 PM

Shame she didn't kill him instead.

Hondaracer 11-01-2024 12:33 PM

To mikes point I follow some pretty liberal travel people, Rick Steves for those familiar and a few others who have unfortunately waded into politics in their business in support of Kamala

In these political posts it’s pretty crazy that more than half of the comments end up being in support of Trump etc. and the people following these people are likely upper/middle class people with some world experience and education

As the election draws closer wouldn’t surprise me at all now if Trump wins

Manic! 11-01-2024 12:52 PM

Trumps going to lose. Women are going to show up big time for Harris. 10 states have abortion on the ballot. I think a number of republicans are fed up with trump but are afraid to say it because of the backlash they will get.

68style 11-01-2024 01:10 PM

Of course being in Texas is going to make you feel like Trump is going to win, people there still think Cruz is a good guy ffs

I bet if you were living in LA you'd hardly even know Trump is a serious candidate

The smart people who are in advantageous positions know that the world will be fucked by 2050 and half the planet will be uninhabitable, so they're going to scoop up every penny they can in preparation. Being concerned about the fall of democracy will seem silly to the people looking back to this election.

Any other normal person saying this will get a swift visit from the cops. In Canada, successful prosecution could result in no more than 2 years in prison.

But of course, Trump will get a pass here.

These days there's a shitload of bots pushing that kinds stuff though. Nobody has the time to do it but if you were able to actually check them all quite a few aren't real people.

Russia is absolutely dismantling the west via social media.

This is actually beneficial for you. If trumptards see a clear lead then less of them will make the effort to vote if they think he’s already got it wrapped up.

Can you post the clip where he is telling his supporters to shoot her? I couldn’t find it

I think using Russia as as a fulcrum undermines the amount of propaganda, and usage of misinformation through bots, media heads and such that are all from within. When Russia or China is mentioned it takes the attention off the bad actors internally that should be highlighted.

westopher 11-02-2024 11:22 AM

If anything though, Russia created this tactic to pull society apart from the inside and what you mentioned is still a result of that.

The idea of election meddling I don't think is beneficial no matter what side wins. It sows division and distrust in the democratic process, which we have seen the consequences so far. It's going to tear countries apart beyond what has already happened and makes the me vs. You mentality far worse.

the only thing this guy realized is that it's somehow better for his career to come out and take this position

whitev70r 11-04-2024 07:37 AM

Trump has really gone over the deep end in the last few days, even for him! I hope that enough undecided voters will wake up and realize this.
