So they're trying to amend the constitution, to allow Trump to have a third term.
It specifically allows it to happen only if their first two were not back to back, which would disqualify Obama from running again.

There is no way the Constitution can be amended to allow for it, but it is still a dick move, and goes to show how this Rep. Ogles (and the GOP in general) are all worse than trash. Congress doesn't change Amendments, they just add more Amendments.
e.g.
The 18th Amendment was for the Prohibition of Liquor
The 21st Amendment was a repeal of the 18th Amendment *oops*
That said any new Amendment to the Constitution needs 2/3 approval by both House and Senate as well as 3/4 of state legislatures. No way any of this is going to happen with today's close to 50/50 split.

I was listening to 70's on 7 on Sirius XM and they had this audio clip from back when. It was all about how America is good and warrants the praise and help from other countries. It goes on to attack just about every country.............. America has airplanes, space capable vehicles, etc. America came to the rescue of this, that, etc. Who helped restore war torn nations? America did. Countries around the world use our airplanes and technology........... it went on and on.
Truth is, all that was for nobody except for themselves. Help Japan rebuild after the war. Of course they did. They need a military presence in Asia. They're arms dealers. Always have been. They're looking out for themselves. They don't give a flying fuck about anybody else. Britain and the other European nations were in dire need of help and support during WWII. America only came to the rescue once they realized that once everybody else was gone, they'd be next. Then they proclaim they are the heroes and saviours. Where were they when countless civilians were tortured and killed by badhobz' hero? I have a friend who lives in Okinawa. US soldiers there are so disliked. And for good reason. As for the technology, many of the scientists working in America are not American. I remember having an argument with someone about metric and imperial. The idiot says, in the end, well at least we sent a man to the moon with American technology and using imperial measurement.......... uh, pretty sure everybody in the scientific community uses metric measurements, buddy. NASA included.
Damn, did a quick search and found the sound clip. Cannot believe it. Gordon Sinclair!!! He's a fucking Canadian, of all things. Okay, this clip is pretty outdated and Sinclair didn't always see the bigger picture. Makes me sick to hear it again. Gotta remember, it was different times and I get it. There is a bit of irony in the world has always had this polarizing opinion, rightfully so, of the US in that they go to other countries and completely fuck them up. But on the flip side, and you even see this today and when Trump just spoke to the global council or whatever that assembly was, Trump basically said enough is enough, we’re focusing on the US first and foremost. And the instant reaction from people who gave their opinion was but…but… you need to support the rest of the world!
Can’t really have it both ways, if you’re gonna ask for help, their gonna have their fingers in things.

I'm not disputing MG1s point, but on the pro side USAID is amazing, and the post WWII system of international order that reduced the amount of wars and was essentially the most peaceful time in world history was due to the US.
Having said that, if you want to blow your mind about how close we were to craziness, read 'The Doomsday Machine' by Daniel Ellsberg (the guy responsible for the Pentagon papers).

There's an easier way for Trump to get another term: Vance or whoever runs in 2028 wins, they resign, and Trump takes over. The chances of this happening are slim, but who the hell knows with this cult.

Even if Trump doesn't officially get a 3rd term, if Vance or another Trump-puppet wins the next election, Trump can easily be the shadow master behind the POTUS, pulling strings and such. Past POTUS have been very good to step away from the spot light once they finished their term, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if Trump tries to do what many Communist Chinese leaders and Putin have always done -- to still call the shots even though he doesn't have the official title anymore.
