What the hell? So shady business practices are now acceptable?

Trump's right hand must be tired - he's been signing so many executive orders lately...

SkinnyPupp 02-10-2025 02:48 PM

Honestly I can see the logic in it if you take the same "fuck everyone else" stance China does. If this is the logic, then Trump sees that if you want to compete with China, you have to fight dirty

On the other hand, this is more likely a way to get his own personal contacts a lot of American money

THIS IS NOT A DEFENSE btw. I am saying it's not some weird unhinged decision like most of what he's been doing. This one appears to be at least a measured, if down right evil, decision.

It also covers foreign entities processing bribes in US jurisdiction (not necessarily involving US officials). That just clears the way for those international entities to bribe US company affiliates. I wonder that companies might benefit from that.....

The law didn't stop Jared Kushner from taking a billion dollar bribe last round so I wonder how bad it'll be this round.

Next thing you know Russia is building the next Air Force One and Two and the Saudis are building weapons for the military.

It's gonna be crazy.

Trump can't even get rid of the penny properly. He's right that they lose money on the penny (3-4c to produce) however, the nickel costs $0.14 to make, and they'll need more if they get rid of the penny. So the mint could actually lose more money getting rid of the penny.

Apparently our nickels only cost about 4c to make, so we're ok.

westopher 02-10-2025 06:02 PM

Gonna cost more with the metals tariff too haha.

68style 02-10-2025 06:31 PM

haha yah and guess where the USA gets almost all of its nickel from now that Russia is out of the picture? Sudbury lol.. they import about 2.5 billion$ of it annually mostly from us and Norway.

SkinnyPupp 02-10-2025 07:37 PM

There's no reason they couldn't switch to nickel plating like Canada, is there? They have no problem getting copper domestically

SkinnyPupp 02-10-2025 07:52 PM

Yup. This is what The Gulf of Mexico looks like on Google Maps if you live in a country where the president is retarded

This is what it looks like outside the retarded president country

Not surprising, Google donated to Trumps campaign.

This isn't really to do with Google being in the tank for Trump - they've had a policy (as does Apple) of following the names that are supplied to them by countries.

The name change for the Gulf of Mexico will be reflected in other regions, as well. According to Google, both “applicable names will be shown.”

“When official names vary between countries, Maps users see their official local name. Everyone in the rest of the world sees both names. That applies here too,” Google said.

An example of this practice is the Sea of Japan, or the East Sea, the name of which has been in dispute between Japan and South Korea. In Google Maps in the United States, the sea is designated as the Sea of Japan (East Sea).

A similar naming procedure is set to be used for the Gulf of Mexico in regions outside the United States.
This happens with borders as well - there's an area in India/Pakistan that's disputed where the border appears differently depending no where you're from.

Soon there will be no physical currency cause it's too expensive to make. Instead you'll have to trade it in for their crypto... which they can lock you out of... lol

So does that mean the US actually put through the official paperwork to rename it within their country?

Coworker told me about this app.

Buy Canadian app tells you whether a product is made in Canada.

I tried the app out by scanning a barcode on my iPhone box. It works haha.

That looks crazy, what was it? I was like "How did he see this? What in the tinfoil hat?" but I forgot you're a pilot lol

I should ask, do you have concerns these days flying into the USA? I know there's a lot of accidents being reported but a couple of them were real small plane crashes.. not sure they would have been that widely reported if not for recent incidents.

hud 91gt 02-11-2025 08:28 AM

None at all, but I also don’t pay attention to the news.

Space X Satellite is my suspicion. Every night you’re down there you see weird things these days. But the sunset really made this a cool phenomenon.

Cheeto wants to put tariffs on Canadian made cars too?

https://globalnews.ca/news/11013600/...n-cars-tariff/

As Canada braces for 25 per cent U.S. tariffs on steel and aluminum, U.S. President Donald Trump says he is considering an additional tariff on Canadian-made cars, which could be as high as 50 to 100 per cent.

In an interview with Fox News on Monday, Trump said Canada “stole” the automobile industry from the United States.

“If you look at Canada, Canada has a very big car industry. They stole it from us. They stole it because our people were asleep at the wheel,” Trump said.

I did some research about what cars are made in Canada:

https://www.surex.com/blog/what-cars-are-made-in-canada

If you've been asking yourself questions like, "what cars are made in Canada?", you may be surprised to learn that the following models are produced not too far away from home:

Dodge Charger
Dodge Challenger
Dodge Caravan
Chrysler 300
Chrysler Pacifica
Chrysler Grand Caravan
Chevrolet Equinox
Lincoln Nautilus
Ford Edge
Ford GT
Toyota RAV4
Lexus RX
Honda Civic Sedan
Honda Civic Coupe
Honda CR-V
